PreLim Round,Live From Mumbai.

Game Entering Climax!
( Hogg Departed, but Ponting still battling )

Well, the massive pressure was on Ponting and Hogg was expected to give a good support in other end. Ashraful maintained a defensive field set for Ponting and an attacking type for Hogg. Also, Bangla skipper was contented to operate with Saleh and Rafique. The spin became very difficult to play which is an expected one from Mumbai's pitch!

Ponting Trying To Rescue!

pontingbatlerz4.jpg

Ponting, inspite of the pressure, is maintaining a cool tempo and continued to dominate the bowlers. As he was already well settled, Ponting was very confident in shot selection and was moving his feet well. Saleh looked impressive though but he managed to keep Hogg on strike in most of his spell.

Aussie skipper played some excellent shots and got some useful boundaries. But still, he is very watchful and his scoring rate has just increased a bit when compared to his early start. Aussie team needed him to stay at the crease as he is the only last recognised batsmen.

Ashraful is well aware of this and so, he looked attacking in another end, where Hogg is batting! Meanwhile, Rafique finished his Ten Overs spell. He was unlucky to finish without a wicket but he looked impressive while bowling! Ashraful replaced Aftab in place of Rafique. Aftab striked in his very first over of his second spell with the wicket of Hogg!

Hogg Dismissed By Aftab

hoggoutaf3.jpg

Its been a lucky day for Ashraful that his suprise bowling changes have been striking for Bangladesh. Bringing Aftab ahead of Razzak and Mortaza is one of he suprise changes and that worked infact well.

Aftab bowled an ordinary delivery which Hogg attempted to go over the top, but missed it completely and the ball striked the stumps resulting in the clean bowled. It was an unneccesary attempt from Hogg as his main job was to give away strike to his skipper. Ponting was frustrated more than Hogg and the tension increased further in Aussies dressing room!

Meanwhile, Bangaldesh celebrated this with huge joy as the tail is exposed now. Hogg made his way towards the dressing room and to everyone's suprise, Gillespie is sent ahead of Lee. It seems that, Lee is being preserved for some quick fire in the last overs as the target is getting closer and closer! Aussies need Gillespie to stand solid in one end and Ponting to continue in another end.

Well, 40 Overs ended, Aussies are under more pressure at the moment as the tail is exposed. But still, Ponting battling alone! With Razzak and Mortaza still having 8 overs to bowl between them, Bangla is expected to threaten more!

Australia :- 179/7(40)
Gillespie : 2*(9)
R.Ponting : 68*(95)

Hogg : 17(30) Dismissed by Saleh.
Aussies Require 52 runs from 60 Balls!

What a game. After dumping England out, Bangladesh (of all teams) has the chance to knock out the World Champions. Although the captain can still win it for the Aussies.

Come on Bangla!! That's the way!! WHOOOO!!! Aftab and Saleh doing the trick, good stuff from Ashraful! Now, they still have overs from Razzak and Mortaza in hand, two very good bowlers. Ged rid of Punter, and it's in the bag!

well the banglas need to finish the tail off quickly, as ponting is still there

Whats Going to be End???
( Only One Wicket Left, Ponting Still there )

The last 10 Overs are always crucial for any ODIs. The first half of the last Ten Overs belonged to Bangladesh though Ponting is providing a tough ressistance. Bangla's key bowlers, Mortaza and Razzak once again striked for their teams, each getting one wicket!

Gillespie,The Third Victim of Razzak

gillespieoutnq5.jpg

Gillespie was dismissed by Razzak in the similar way of Symonds. Razzak bowled an straight delivery, which Gillespie attempted to get a single in straight but marginally ( Very very marginally ) missed the ball that resulted in ball striking the stumps!

Razzak was delighted to pick his third wicket! Infact this was the first match for him in the Champions Trophy.. He has picked three crucial wickets in this game. Bangla's skipper was the most delighted one and the entire team celebrated this dismissal. Meanwhile, Gillespie made his way towards the dressing room and the tension & disappointments among Aussie fans and in dressing room increased further!

Lee replaced Gillespie at the crease joining his skipper. Lee's main job was to get some handy boundaries and to give support to his skipper. But Mortaza's brilliant delivery fetched yet another wicket of Lee!

B.Lee, Mortaza's Third Victim!

leeoutzu5.jpg

Mortaza was brought back to be operated in the final overs. He striked with wicket as soon as he was introduced for the second spell.

Mortaza bowled an brilliant straight delivery which Lee attempted some silly shot to play at it and was trapped for a LBW and there was a huge confident shout from Mortaza and the umpire raised his finger without any hesitation and Bangla team were once again delighted!

Aussie fans have gone to complete silence.. they are just puzzled about whats going on in their front! While, the music among Bangla fans is non stop! Lee stared at his skipper with a disappointed look and made his way towards the pavilion. Lee was well aware of his job but getting out in this manner not only frustrated the skipper but also the coach in dressing room.

Well, the last batsman, McGrath walked out of the dressing room to join his skipper at the crease!

Ponting Left Alone!

pontinalonesx4.jpg

Ponting is trying his level best to rescue Aussies but the situation at the moment is one of the worst situations Ponting has faced so far in his cricket life... Target is close but only one wicket left!

He is trying to get frequent boundaries, but the fielders near the boundary are denying those opportunities. Also, Ponting is well aware that McGrath should not get the strike. So the pressure is just making him to panic now. Infact he edged one of the great deliveries of Mortaza but was lucky enough that it didnt carry to keeper!

Well, only five overs left for Aussies. Target is very close but its just a " do or die " situation now! One silly mistake wud shatter the hopes of Aussies. Bangla gains a slight upper hand over Aussies as they were able to pick two quick wickets in last five overs. But still, Ponting is there which is the only hope for Aussies! While, Bangla wud be looking to bring McGrath on strike.

Tension among the spectators now... " Can Ponting do it for Aussies???" or " Can Bangla make it??? "

Australia :- 204/9(45)
McGrath : 1*(1)
R.Ponting : 82*(108)

Lee : 1(3) Dismissed by Mortaza.
Gillespie : 10(20) Dismissed by Razzak.
Aussies Require 27 runs from 30 Balls!

wow another thrilling fiinish but Bangladesh should win it from here. if they don't then that will be poor

27 from 30 still do-able it will be close to call i am going to say a .....

NOTE: 1800 posts

stunning climax but bangla win ponting needs a four in the innings then single at the end of the over at the least, but he needs singles at the end of the over
