Need 7 Runs From LastOver!
( The Battle is Still Not Over )

over4649vf4.jpg

Well, Bangladesh bowlers Mortaza n Razzak were trying hard to get the remaing one wicket, but there was a tough ressistance provided by Ponting with some good support from McGrath.

Ponting was able to get a lucky boundary which was edged but didnt carry and went past the keeper. The runs were very hard to come. Razzak almost got McGrath in one of his deliveries where the ball missed the bails by narrow margin! At the same time, to everyone's suprise, Mcgrath got a handy boundary by playing a strong pull shot. Noone wud have expected that shot from McGrath.

Well, just one more over left for the whole match to end. There are no signs of Aussies and Bangla to give up! Both are battling for their victory! Bangaldesh are just looking for one silly mistake from batsmen. Also, McGrath is currently on strike to face the last over from Mortaza which is the huge chance for Bangladesh!

Australia :- 224/9(49)
McGrath : 7*(13)
R.Ponting : 91*(122)

Aussies Require 7 runs from 6 Balls!

McGrath On Strike.
Mortaza To Bowl Last Over!

Bangladesh Win By 2 Runs
( Mortaza Puts An End To Thriller )

banglawinsrt7.jpg

First Ball :- Mortaza bowled an short pitched delivery which McGrath tried to pull but missed it and so no runs off the first delivery!

This made Ashraful to bring a slip and silly point to McGrath.

Second Ball :- Mortaza bowled an beautiful outsinger that made McGrath to play but was luckily edged for a handy four between the slips! Ashraful was frustrated as its another chance that was not in favour of Bangladesh.

Third Ball :- Mortaza bowled an straight quick delivery & McGrath was only able to defend it. No runs again and it made Ponting and Aussies dressing room to panic!

The attacking field has increased the pressure of McGrath and all Aussies expect is another handy four to finish off this match or give strike to Ponting!

Fourth Ball :- This put an end to McGrath. It was an slow delivery that McGrath tried to play in leg side which made the ball to travel in air straight towards the fielder, Rafique. Rafique took an brilliant catch under pressure dismissing McGrath!

McGrath was frustrated. Ponting cant believe it! Players and oach from Aussie dressing room cant believe it. The Aussie fans cant believe it, but its over! Mortaza straight away jumped on Ashraful over which many players jumped and celebrated their victory over the World Champions!

Soon, players started exchanging the warm handshakes between them and with the umpires too and started leaving the field. The way Bangladesh team has progressed in this Champions Trophy has been excellent and lots of hard works from the players were very clearly seen. Excellent victory for Bangla over Aussies. They disappointed England first and now disappointed the world champions!

Australia ScoreCard

Ponting tried his level best and was left helpless in the end as it was very unfortunate that he wasn't able to get strike in the last over that wud have turned the match! But the top order failed which was a great loss for Aussies!

Bangladesh Bowling

banglabowlcardvc7.jpg

Bowlers bowled in an excellent manner. Mortaza once again outsmarted in bowling department. He got 5 wickets against England and now 4 wickets against Aussies. Razzak utilised the pitch conditions cleverly and was impressive too and picketd three wickets. Saleh's two crucial wickets initiated the twist in the game! Other bowlers also did their level best.

So to summarise, Bangladesh wins another thriller in this Champions Trophy and have qualified for Semi finals.

Bangladesh Qualified for SemiFinals.
Australia Eliminated from the Series!

After Match Show, Fourth Umpire!

starpw7.jpg
LIVE

fourthumpiresb0.jpg
(With Sunil Gavaskar & Geoffrey Boycott )

S.G : Hello and welcome to the " Fourth Umpire " which is the after match show where we wud be discussing all the analysis here! As usual, we have with us, Mr.Geoffrey Boycott to discuss the detailed anaylsis of today's match which was once again ended as a thriller!

S.G : Well Geoffrey, we will start from this morning session... What do u think of Bangla's batting and Aussies bowling? Who outsmarted whom?

G.B : Sunil, firstly i want to say that i was once again biting my nails and infact wanted Aussies to win this one.. & still i am in shock that Bangla won this match! But have to agree that they worked hard throughout this series so far which was very obviously from the way they played!

And now lets start abt the morning session! Well 231 is always chasable especially for the world champions. Aussies bowled brilliantly except the last ten overs where poor Aussies werent able to get Aftab out! He caused a major damage to McGrath in 50th over which was one of the turning point as Bangla won by a narrow margin of just 2 runs.

S.G : About Bangla batting especially Nafees and Aftab?

G.B : Nafees batted in a matured way. He played well but Aftab was more impressive in batting! He accelerated the scorecard in last ten overs which played an crucial role for Bangladesh.

S.G : About bowling, who was most impressive? It was a bowler friendly track.. So most of the bowlers had a gud day in bowling!

G.B : well, Hogg and Gillespie were impressive for Aussies and Mortaza n Razzak for Bangladesh. Hogg utilised the pitch in a clever way of containing the batsmen as well as picked up crucial wickets! But the umpiring was poor today where there were many doubtful decisions went in favour of bowlers!

S.G : Yes, but it happens in these days! And this is how the comparison of bowling between Hogg and Razzak looks,

Comparison of Spinners

razzakhoggtq1.jpg

G.B : Its a nice bowling by both these two. They have maintained the strict line making tough for batsmen to score runs and they were able to get wickets too!

S.G : Now about Aussie batting? Mortaza created the initial damage which was joined by Razzak later!

G.B : Razzak looked threatening though both Mortaza and Razzak did extremely well. Razzak, as u can see from the map, was always looking to utilise the cracks there. This Mumbai wicket is more spinner friendly than fastbowlers one! Razzak and Hogg utilised it well.

Also Aussies were little careless in initial stage especially Gilchrist and Hussey which was an unneccessary attempt that got them out! Then Symonds had a crucial partnership with Ponting and Saleh's one over brought the entire twist after which Ponting was left without the company and Mortaza bowled the last over brilliantly!

S.G : Talking about Mortaza, he had an excellent spell today. Batsmen were very uncomfortable against his line and pace! This is how the bowling map looks for Mortaza,

Mortaza Vs Australia

mortazamapqm5.jpg

G.B : I observed this guy from the first ball and he also impressed me a lots especially with the consistent line he was concentrating. The pitch offered a nice movement and he maintained a great line and what else u need for a bowler?

S.G : Thats right Geoffrey. With Razzak and Mortaza getting 4 wickets overall within first fifteen over applied the brakes earlier on and then it was ended well by other bowlers.

G.B : Rafique also bowled well but unfortunate that he ended without a wicket. Ponting was top class in display. He played an genuine innings. He came in when there was pressure on Aussies and handled it in matured way but unlucky that he was off strike in the last over!

S.G : Yes, If he had been on the strike in last over, the match wud have turned in Aussies way i guess!

Ok Geoffrey, now is the time to go for three special segments!

S.G : First we will go with Star Sports master blaster of the day!

Well, Aftab's crucial fast innings played an major part in the game and thats our Master Blaster of the day.

mbtitleyh7.jpg

aftabahmedqs5.jpg

G.B : As we have already discussed, Aftab's quick runs especially the last over of McGrath played an very big role and hence he is rightly our Master Blaster of the day!

S.G : Now lets go to the super moment of the day.

Symonds wicket really turned the game back towards Bangla's favour where Symonds and Ponting were going comfortably! So Wicket of Symonds is our super moment of the day!

smtitlemc8.jpg

symondsoutsb7.jpg

G.B : Symonds was bit careless while attempting to play that simple shot. This wicket infact applied a massive pressure on Ponting. This wicket brought the twist to the game and hence its the super moment of the day! :)

S.G : Now to the last segment, Safe hands award!

Well, earlier in Bangla's innings, Gillespie made an amazing dive in front to take an excellent catch and its our Safe hands of the day!

safehandstitleuk2.jpg

ashrafuloutuf6.jpg

G.B : Its very rare to see Gillespie taking an catch like this and it was one of the exceptional catches in this series!

S.G : Ok Geoffrey, its time to end this show... As usual, final words from u?

G.B : Well, Bangla worked hard a bit more than Aussies and hence the victory for them that have taken them to semi finals!

For Aussies, the bowling was good. Once again the opening pair failed. Hayden wasnt able to convert the good start to a huge one.. & Gilchrist's n Hussey's poor form continues in ODIs... So with the Ashes ahead, the batting needs little bit of work to improve!

For Bangladesh, the hard work is seen in the result. They have defeated the two of the toughest team in cricket, England and Aussies.... So all they need to do is continue working hard to get more success! Gud luck for them in semifinals!

S.G : With those beautiful words from Geoffrey, we are concluding our show!

S.G : Thanx everyone for watching it and hope everyone enjoyed it... Also Thanks Geoffrey for the nice analysis! And thats all from the studio,we will join u in next show for the match between WestIndies and SouthAfrica! Now we will take you directly to the presentation Ceremony with Ravi Shastri! Stay Tuned On Star Sports!

G.B :Bye! :)
