End of 15 Overs
( Batting getting easier with Ball loosing shine )

After the early problems created by bowlers, Windies batsmen didn't give much opportunity again. Bowlers were able to threaten only few more overs after that, as the batting was getting bit easier with the ball loosing his shine. Lara was going after all the bowlers in one end with the solid support of Ramdin in another end.

Some Good Deliveries

batprbshz3.jpg

Pollock and Ntini were able to bowl some excellent delivieries but the batsmen were watchful enough. Most of the times, it was well left allowing it to pass it to the keeper. There was even a half shout appeal for LBW against Lara by Ntini to which Umpire just laughed at the bowler. The replay showed there was a huge gap between ball and the stumps and infact the umpire was suprised of Ntini to appeal for this! ;) May be he just did it to put some pressure on batsmen.

After both the batsmen getting settled, bowlers found it uncomfortable now. Especially Lara frustrated all the bowlers used so far.

Lara Taking The control
( Solid Support from Ramdin )

lararamdinva5.jpg

Ramdin maintained his patience and infact was playing the similar role he did in the DLF finals i.e a supportive role. Ramdin,so far, did not attempt any risky shots. He was very watchful and played few shots well. He pulled an beautiful bouncer of Ntini to a four which was the first bounday of Ramdin. He seems to be settled having played 50 deliveries for his patient 29!

In other end, Lara looked just opposite to Ramdin... i.e, He threatened the bowlers. Lara played the shots with great confidence and excellent shot selection. He moved his feet very well at the crease. Bowlers were almost confused about where to pitch the ball to this dangerman! Lara's scoring rate has accelerated the scorecard well and infact compensated Ramdin's patience to some extent!

Smith operated Pollock,Ntini,Hall and Nel so far and wasn't satisfied with his bowlers in the last few overs as the runs have started to come in a free flow. All credits to Lara who is making the batting to look so easy inspite of the bowler friendly conditions!

Well, 15 Overs ended. Windies have bounced back well after the early breakthrough of Gayle. Lara is looking to be a nightmare for the bowlers. SA bowlers have to break this partnership especially Lara to stay safe in this game!

WI :- 70/1(15)
B.Lara : 37*(35)
Ramdin : 29*(50)

Last 10 Overs : 52 Runs

Very good last 10 overs from the Windies after losing Gayle. Lara looks like hes on his way to a quickfire ton.

Lara Dominates!
( Ramdin Departs, but Lara threatens )

Well, after the fifteen overs, Smith continued to operate with Nell and Hall with the wide spread field set. Ramdin who was looking very watchful wasn't able to survive after 15 overs. Nel striked for South Africa with the wicket of Ramdin!

Ramdin, The Victim of Nel!

ramdinoutzs0.jpg

Nel bowled a quick delivery which Ramdin tried to play a simple shot but missed it completely! This resulted in the ball striking the stumps and Nel got excited a lot to break this partnership.

Ramdin had no clue how he missed the line after being watchful for a long time! Lara was not happy with Ramdin and showed some signs of frusrtrations. Ramdin walked back to the dressing room with worried face. While South African team celebrated this breakthrough with great joy and happiness.

Chanderpaul replaced Ramdin at the crease joining the Windies skipper! Smith maintained a separte attacking field for Chanderpaul while defensive for Lara!

UnStoppable Lara!

laraaggressionfp3.jpg

Lara's flow was not affected by the Ramdin's wicket. Infact he has started to go over the bowlers more wild than before! He seemed to be very strong in backfoot though he used both(frontfoot n backfoot) very well.

Lara played some excellent shots and made the bowlers to confuse! Smith was not happy with the approach of Windies skipper and he was almost clueless about where to place his fielders. Inspite of the widespread field set, Lara was getting the regular boundaries. Hall was the most affected by Lara as he smashed three consecutive boundaries in the same over!

Overall, Lara is just threatening the entire SouthAfrican team and the entertainment for Windies fan was greatly provided by their skipper. Non stop music everywhere was played by Windies fans.

Also Chanderpaul shd have got Lara in trouble twice already!

At First, Chanderpaul was targetting Lara's head accurately by a powerful shot though Lara managed to make a narrow escape and the ball went straight to the fielder.

Second time, Chanderpaul played an straight drive(very straight) that narrowly missed Nel's hands and went to the stumps. Even after seeing that ball was moving towards the stumps, Lara was not even bothered to get back to the crease ;) It wud have been an easy run out if the ball wud have touched Nel's hands.

So Lara was indirectly lucky for not being injured and not being run out in a silly way. :)

Well, 25 Overs ended, the scoring rate of Windies is just under 5 runs per over. But Lara have already made all the bowlers to panic at the moment. South African bowlers have to get this man(Lara) to prevent from the troubles in later stage of this innings while Windies need another big partnership!

WI :- 124/2(25)
B.Lara : 75*(68)
Chanderpaul : 15*(26)

Ramdin : 29(51) Dismissed by Nel.
Last 10 Overs : 54 Runs

Lara playing nicely ....but no way the ball was hitting Lara as see Lara is standing outside the pitch and the ball is in the middle of the pitch in stumps line so Chanderpaul is not killing Lara. . ;) Lara should stay in the crease from now.

West Indies are in a good position and 250 + score is surely on the cards.btw which team are u playing as ?

Lara Attack Continues!
( Chanderpaul giving a Solid Support )

With Lara scoring in an amazing rate, Smith had a frequent discussions with his players and the bowlers & tried changing the field settings. The bowlers were also changing their angle ( over and around the wicket ). Inspite of these tactics, Lara stood as firm as rock & continued to remain as a threaten to bowlers!

Its Lara Vs SouthAfrica

lara100rr5.jpg

Lara's aggressive batting continued. Smith and his team had no answers for this attacking approach of Lara! Smith introduced Boje thinking that the spin wud do some damage but it was effectless. Boje and Kallis were operating and this had no effect on Lara.

Lara was picking the gaps well and infact on many occasions, Lara bisected the players near boundaries so well. The fielders were almost tired of running behind the ball. Lara played some excellent cover drives, sweep shots, straight drives etc and kept on accelerating the scorecard.

Meanwhile, Lara brought his century and raised his bat proudly to his fans and the dressing room. All the fans were jumping from the seats and praising this excellent innings! Also, players and coach from the dressing room applauded this magnificent skipper knock. What an innings this has been.. Well done Lara :clap :clap :clap The stadium is packed with the music from Windies fans and infact it seems that even umpiring wud be very tough under such loud atmosphere :p

Chanderpaul's Supportive Role!

chandersuprtsl2.jpg

While In other end, Chanderpaul was giving an excellent support to his skipper. Chanderpaul also seems to be well settled and infact in last few overs, he also looked to have broken his patience as he got some handy fours.

Smith and his bowlers are badly looking to break this partnership but this pair has outsmarted the bowlers well so far! Chanderpaul's main intension was to pick singles and give strike to Lara and he was doing that very well. He(Chanderpaul) has played around 50 deliveries and looking very comfortable at the moment to play shots all around!

Well 35 Overs ended, Windies are in great position and the scoring rate is kept on climbing continuously over by over!

* For SouthAfricans, They badly need a wicket especially Lara, who wud be the most dangerous if allowed to continue in last stages of this innings!
* For Windies, their skipper have to stay till the end to get a huge score on their scoreboard!

The great suprise to everyone is, inspite of the bowling conditions, Lara have made the batting to look more easy! :)

WI :- 183/2(35)
B.Lara : 109*(101)
Chanderpaul : 38*(53)

Last 10 Overs : 59 Runs

Lol SA must have paid Chanderpaul to take out Lara :)
Very nice 100 there by Lara, WI should be looking at 270+ now.

this is great batting from the winides and with 8 wickets in hand should look to score at least 100 more
