End Of 15 Overs
( Kallis Leading The FightBack )

After Two early wickets within five overs, SouthAfrica were under huge pressure. Kallis was looking more confident than Villiers. Bradshaw was bowling brilliant, but Collymore was once again smashed for couple of boundaries by Kallis. This made Lara to stop Collymore from bowling and introduced Edwards very early which worked for Windies with the wicket of Villiers.

Edwards Striked In His Very First Over!

villiersoutch4.jpg

Edwards bowled an excellent delivery of yorker length which Villiers tried to defend it. But the pace was quick enough to decieve Villiers that made the ball to strike the stumps taking the bails off. Edwards got excited to strike in his very first over.

Lara and his team celebrated this wicket.. Also this is a huge blow for SouthAfrica as Villiers was expected to give support to Kallis. Villiers made his way back to the dressing room with worried face. It was an excellent delivery that got rid of Villiers. Pace,Line and Length did the trick for Edwards.

Kemp replaced Villiers at the crease joining Kallis. Pressure on Kallis increased further but he handled it in a very matured way!

Trying to Restore The Lost Balance

kallissuperud8.jpg

In other end, Kallis started going over the bowlers. Only Bradshaw was looking bit impressive..Edwards was smashed for runs by Kallis. He played some excellent shots with great confidence. Also, Kallis was moving his feet well. Lara, for the first time in this innings, was clueless to place his fielders especially with field restrictions still on!

Lara was working busily with his fielders and kept on encouraging his bowlers. After a lengthy 6 overs spell by Bradshaw, Lara brought Banks into the attack! The aggressive approach of Kallis remained the same. His quick scoring accelerated SouthAfrican scorecard but still the asking rate is close to 6 Runs per Over!

Well 15 Overs ended, Kallis is the only threaten for WestIndies. Lara is still working hard with his bowlers to get rid of this dangerman(Kallis). For SouthAfrica, some good partnership is need and for Windies, couple of quick wicktes wud take them to driver's seat!

SA :- 81/3(15)
J.Kemp : 10*(23)
J.Kallis : 44*(32)

AB Villiers : 11(18) Dismissed by Edwards.
Required Run Rate :- 5.89 Runs/Over

Well SA have cracked under the pressure, they really need to make it to the 35th over with only 4 or 5 wickets lost.

Kallis is scoring very fast today, probably will slow down a bit now. If these two get set SA will be in a good position again.

Kemp Departs!
( Excellent Fielding Display by Windies )

kempoutdi6.jpg

The fielding by Windies looks to be the major key than their bowling. It was simply amazing. The fielders did not allow easy runs and infact made batsmen to think for while before running even in widespread field after the fielding restrictions.

Edwards striked again with the wicket of Kemp because of the magnificent catch taken by Bravo.
In one of the deliveries of Edwards, Kemp moved a bit away from legstumps and attempted an aggresive shot to pick the gaps for a boundary( there was a huge gap ). The ball was in air and Bravo made an brilliant dive to his side & managed to get hold of the ball in air itself.

For a moment, it looked like a boundary as Kemp smashed it very hard. But Bravo took an amazing catch which Edwards also was not expecting! Lara and other players started running towards Bravo and started jumping on each other to celebrate this wicket. This partnership was lookin gud for SouthAfrica but it was an unfortunate end for Kemp.

Hall replaced Kemp at the crease joining well settled Kallis. The pressure on Kallis has increased further.

Kallis, Fifty Under Pressure!

kallis50va6.jpg

Meanwhile, Kallis reached his half century and raised his bat towards the dressing room but there was no happiness seen in Kallis's face becos of the pressure in other end! But still, everyone in SouthAfrican applauded his brilliant efforts so far. Also the approach of Kallis has gone bit slow and infact there was no boundaries for last 5 overs.

Well, 20 Overs ended. With four wickets in first 20 Overs, Windies look bit more comfortable than SouthAfrica. Kallis has been left alone without a consistent support in other end. One good partnership may turn the things for SouthAfrica while Lara wud be looking for more wickets especially Kallis!

SA :- 97/4(20)
A.Hall : 5*(12)
J.Kallis : 54*(47)

J.Kemp : 10(26) Dismissed by Edwards.
Required Run Rate :- 6.33 Runs/Over
No Boundaries for Last 5 Overs!

Huge pressure on this partnership and Kallis is definitely the key. Hes going to need to make more than just a 100 as well.

SA Under Huge Pressure!
( Hall departs, Once Again excellent fielding by Windies )

After Kemp's wicket, Lara operated with Banks,Gayle and Bravo. Everyone was expecting Collymore, who just bowled 3 overs to return, but Lara did not try him. Kallis and Hall relaxed themselves a bit as they were facing spin and medium pace which was bit easy than pace of Edwards and Bradshaw. Infact both the batsmen started playing freely!

Kallis & Hall In Rescue!

hallnkallispartned0.jpg

Kallis continued the confidence he had right from the start of this innings. He played some more excellent shots also and infact was able to score boundaries. Bravo got a nice treatement from Kallis where Kallis went for two consecutive fours and a six in one of the overs Bravo! This brought SA fans something to cheer about but still, the music played by Windies was greater and infact, Windies fans were jumping from the seats and dancing. This shows the great spirit they have towards this sport!

In Other end, Hall also provided the required support. Most of the times, Hall was picking the singles giving strike to Kallis. At the same time, he was able to get some handy boundaries as well. Lara's mind was alarmed a bit of this partnership... but he was relieved soon, as Gayle striked with the wicket of Hall & once again, the fielding was the key for this wicket!

A.Hall, The Victim of Gayle

halloutrh5.jpg

One thing that was good about Gayle was, he maintained the straight stump to stump line which was bit difficult to put away though batsmen mainly tried to rotate the strikes.

Hall, in one of the deliveries of Gayle, tried to play in legside which was an ordinary shot for rotating strike but the ball went flat in the air. Collymore, who was standing there, made an amazing dive in front and managed to catch the ball in air itself. This resulted in Hall's wicket and ended the good partnership too!

The fielding display by Windies is absolutely fantastic which is playing a key role now. Hall was disappointed and made his way towards the dressing room. Lara was relieved now to break this partnership but something is eating his mind i.e, Kallis is still there! The entire Windies team celebrated this wicket.

South African Keeper, Boucher replaced Hall at the crease joining nicely going Kallis!

Well, 30 Overs ended and the required run rate is still more than 6 Runs per Over. Kallis is the only hope for SouthAfricans and also gud support is needed from Boucher & Pollock! Windies are in great position and good thing for them is, they were able to pick the wickets in regular intervals not allowing the partnership to grow huge! Couple of quick wickets here wud turn the game completely towards Windies.

SA :- 154/5(30)
M.Boucher : 0*(3)
J.Kallis : 87*(72)

A.Hall : 28(44) Dismissed by Gayle.
Required Run Rate :- 6.65 Runs/Over

Nice presentation, Kallis needs to push on to give SA a chance of a win :D

Huge Blow : Kallis Departs!
( Windies in Commanding Position, Fielding being the major Key )

kallisoutnt9.jpg

SouthAfrica's only hope was Kallis who was threatening all the bowlers. But Gayle managed to get rid of him with the teaser! Lara's confidence of Keeping Gayle on worked out for Windies. Infact Banks was stopped and Collymore was brought on in other end with Lara continuing with Gayle in one end.

Kallis was batting on 97 and the required rate was around 7 Runs per Over. This forced Kallis to attempt to accelerate each and every ball. Gayle, in one of his overs, bowled an slow delivery to Kallis & Kallis was tempted to go over it. He tried an huge sweep shot which didn't get the enough distance but was looking to fall safe as the fileder(Collymore) was little far from the ball. Collymore, to everyone's suprise, made an huge dive in front and managed to get hold of the ball in air.

Kallis was not satisfied and stood looking at the umpire. After sometime, both the umpires decided to ask for third umpire's decision which conformed that it was an excellent catch! SouthAfrica's only hope has been shattered with the brilliant effort of Collymore. Also its not easy for a bowler, who just finished his over, to make such a huge dive!

Windies have been electrifying in the fielding and that has lead to the success so far. Lara was the most happy person in the whole stadium as he knows how important this wicket if for Windies! All the players lifted Collymore and started jumping on each other to celebrate this wicket. Music of Windies was even more louder. SA fans have turned to silence!

Smith's Reaction To Kallis's Dismissal

sreactionje6.jpg

Meanwhile, Kallis made his way towards the dressing room and excellent innings thus coming to an end by excellent field effort by Collymore. While walking back, everyone applauded him(Kallis) for the brilliant innings under pressure. Smith was seen most disappointed in the dressing room. Kallis was expected to stay till the end, but unfortunately he got dismissed in the crucial stage! SouthAfrican dressing room was filled with lot of disappointments!

Well, 35 Overs ended and required rate in more than 7 Runs per over! Pollock and Boucher are both new to the crease... This increases the pressure on SouthAfrica even more. Well, Lara succeeded in getting rid of Kallis with his brilliant fielders! With the dismissal of Kallis, Windies are in commanding position!

" Without Kallis, Whats SouthAfrica going to do now ??? " is the current thought of all SouthAfrican fans!

SA :- 181/6(35)
M.Boucher : 6*(14)
S.Pollock : 7*(6)

J.Kallis : 97(85) Dismissed by Gayle.
Required Run Rate :- 7.07 Runs/Over

Kallis will feel sick falling on 97. Luckily SA have some big hitters and maybe 7 run per over is achievable. C'mon you Saffies.

Boucher Departs!
( Direct Hit Sending Boucher To Pavilion )

boucherrunoutmt6.jpg

Well, there was huge pressure on Boucher and Pollock to score some quick runs. Lara was contented to operate with Collymore and Gayle! In Collymore's over, Windies striked with another wicket of Boucher which is again due to the excellent fielding by Chanderpaul!

In one of the deliveries of Collymore, Boucher moved away from the stumps and smashed it hard. But the ball straight away went to the fielder, Chanderpaul who was in the inner circle. Boucher, as soon as he striked the ball, called Pollock for a run... It was a clean pick up by Chanderpaul and sharp throw towards the stumps. This time, the throw was perfectly targetted towards the stumps and not at the umpire :p The decision went to the third umpire!

After seeing several replays, it was observed that Boucher's bat was in air while the ball striked the stumps. The red light glowed which added one more to the wicket column of SouthAfrica! Boucher was not happy as he wud have prevented the single. But these things are quite common when the required rate is more that too in last stages of the game!

Boucher made his way towards the dressing room and Boje replaced the Boucher at the crease joining Gayle!

Gayle's Confident Appeal!

lbwappealvc8.jpg

Gayle was also bowling some tight line. While bowling to Pollock, Gayle bowled a quick straight one which Pollock tried to sweep it. Pollock was completely decieved and there was a huge LBW shout from Gayle. Umpire remained unmoved but still, Gayle was appealing! Umpire laughed and nodded his head towards Gayle. But Gayle was unhappy!

The replay showed that it was a close call. The umpire's thought that it might be missing the leg stumps well. Pollock responded to this by smashing a huge six and a four in next two deliveries! Gayle was even more frustrated.

Well, 40 Overs ended and the required rate is climbing continuosly! South Africa are in deep problems as they have only three wickets left and Pollock's two boundaries off Gayle's over brought some confidence among SA fans but still, Windies are in comfortable position applying more & more pressure on SouthAfrica!

SA :- 212/7(40)
Boje : 8*(11)
S.Pollock : 24*(22)

M.Boucher : 12(17) RunOut by Chanderpaul ( Direct hit )
