Ravi Shastri:- Welcome to The Star Sports Guest Area, which is the show exclusive for viewers! We will go directly to Sunil Gavaskar and Geoffrey who are waiting to communicate with our special Guest!

S.G :- Once again welcome back to Star Sports! Now, its time for the our special Guest in " Guest Area ". Also we have Mr.Geoffrey again with us, to interact with the our special Guest!

S.G :- Well Geoffrey, its ur turn now to reveal our special guest today :)

G.B :- Sure Sunil, before telling his name, he is one of the people who had a belief that Bangla wud win this Champions Trophy!

S.G :- yes, the impact that was created by Bangladesh in this series was a huge one. They had a shocking victories over Aussies & England and today, they were almost about to make it.. But their hard work was well reflected!

G.B :- Exactly Sunil! Ok, let me intrdouce him to this show.. His name is " Mr.Feelin Blue?" also called as " Mr.Matt"!

S.G :- A warm welcome to Mr.Matt and lets connect him straight away,

( ..... Connecting Mr.Matt ..... )

S.G :- Hello Matt and we are happy to have to have you on this show. :) Now Geoffrey is waiting to start this show ;)

G.B :- Hello Matt, here is a general question from me as usual,

Whats ur general opinion on this match?

guestarea1uk4.jpg

S.G :- Infact, thats what everyone believes i.e Bangla wud have won without that hattrick! Fleming also made a comment on this one that his main intention of bringing Astle is to utilise the conditions affected by dew that wud make the medium pacers more difficult becos of the pace!

G.B :- Yes Sunil,It wud make the batsmen to push hard for runs and with the widespread field Fleming had, i felt that it wud be thrill till the last ball. yeah,ofcourse, Astle's 2nd delivery was one of the golden chances for a boundary but he was expected to bowl just a straight one cutting down the speed which is not easy to put away!

S.G :- Well Matt, here is my question for you,

Bangladesh, after beating Aussies and England lost here.. They played well agaisnt Kiwis also but they lost.. Where do u think that Bangladesh wud have done much better?

guestarea2ur9.jpg

G.B :- Well said :clap

" the nerves of getting to the Semi-Finals got to them "

This is exactly happened in the last over. Bangladesh have never been in this stage so for & its the first time.. So they seem to slightly inexperienced in handling these pressure stages! But they can always learn from this! Nafees have showed great promising signs in previous two games! Definitely he is a key wicket.. but, batsmen like Saleh,Bashar,Rafique all threw their wickets away which also played a crucial role in the end!

S.G :- Yes Geoffrey, Bangla cud have handled in much better way! but anyways, they had a great series ;)

G.B :- :) It cud have been more interesting if they have won this trophy as Matt expected :p

Well, here is the final question Matt,

Whats ur expectations on finals? ;)

guestarea3la9.jpg

S.G :- This is exacty same as, " Top Order of Kiwis shd get runs rather than leaving it to the middle order " :) Well said again! But this has been one problem for Kiwis of top order not firing.. So they have to work a lot in this department! Though Fleming & Astle did well today, there is lots of inconsistency in top order these days!

G.B :- Also, i remember one of the spectator commenting that, "New Zealand once again win games off the back of there bowling." Bond have done twice alreadyin two games & played a crucial role in both the victories! So as Matt said, its going to be tough contest for Kiwis not only becos of inconsistency in top order but also both Windies or India are tough teams :)

S.G :- Thanks Matt (Feelin Blue?) for all ur nice views! :)

G.B :- Also we had a nice little convo with our special guest and we will be continuing in remaining matches also... Any one of you viewers may get a chance.... So keep ur eyes opened :)

S.G :- Also Thanx Geoffrey for being with us again and that concludes this Guest Area! Hope everyone enjoyed it! We will be back for the next match between India and WestIndies! Till then bye from us!

G.B :- Bye everyone :)

India Vs WestIndies
( Toss,Weather & Pitch Reports )

Welcome back to the second semi finals between India and WestIndies, LIVE from Chennai. Its the second game thats being played in Chennai. First match was between Eng-Bangla in elimination round and now the semifinals. Well, its a wonderful atmosphere here for cricket and the stadium is already packed with full strength. Also its a day-night game with conditions very similar to the first match! Well, Mr.Geoffrey is waiting for us to give weather and pitch reports now. :)

Weather Report :
Its very fine weather conditions here in Chennai. We are very glad to observe that there has been no rain for last one month! So there wud be no bad weather interruptions which means that we wud be getting a full day's play! Dew might play a small role in the second half of the innings but its not expected to be a major issue though! :) Anyways, exciting cricket is on the way within few moments & we move to the pitch report now!

Pitch Report

chennaipitchyh2.jpg

This stadium is where the Indian cricket team won its first ever Test victory here in 1952 against England.The stadium witnessed history when only the second tied test was played here between India and Australian in 1986!Another famous moment was Saeed Anwar's record 194 against India in the Independence Cup in 1997. The stadium also witnessed dramatic scenes when 50,000 fans gave a standing ovation to the Pakistani cricket team in 1999 after victory in a very closely fought test match.

The nature of the pitch today is just a flat track where the runs are expected to come in loads. Batsmen are surely going to enjoy themselves batting as we have already witnessed this in Bangla-Eng match where both the teams got 300+ runs. So the bowlers have to bend their back very hard to be accurate in this pitch!

Some More Facts on this Pitch :

* Highest ODI Score : 327-5, Pakistan v India
* Lowest ODI Score : 139, Zimbabwe v Australia
* Most Successful Indian Batsmen : S.Tendulkar ( Avg : 47 )
* Most Successful Indian Bowler : A.Agarkar ( Avg : 11 )

Thanks for joining us in the pitch report and now we will straight away go to the Toss.

Toss : WestIndies won the toss and selected to bowl first. Well, looking at the conditions, Its a very suprise decision taken by Lara but we have to wait till the last ball and see whether this decision is correct :)

Teams

India

indianlineupty7.jpg

Sehwag has been promoted up the order to open with Sourav while Tendulkar has been asked to bat at no3. But experimenting Sachin with any order other than opening is always an gamble! Also in bowling line up, Zaheer Khan is into the team for injured Munaf Patel!

WestIndies

windieslineupch2.jpg

There has been one change made in Windies side. Morton has been brought into the side for Hinds. Except for that change, the same winning combination has been maintained. Like Sachin,Lara is also coming down the order... Once again proving that they are great friends apart from sharing the same highest score in this series of 154! :p

Wel, both the teams look strong & the game is just going to start withing few moments and enjoy all the actions LIVE exclusively on Star Sports! :)

India :- 0/0(0)
S.Ganguly : 0*(0)
V.Sehwag : 0*(0)

Windies won the Toss.
India put into bat which remains as a great suprise!

Lara continues to surprise.....will his decision cost the defending champions??

It just striked my mind.. Actually in the real game yesterday also ( same Chennai game ), Lara did the same decision of choosing to bowl on a flat track but won in the end! Lets see what happens here :)

it dosent make sence for SC Ganguly to open

He has been opening for last few matches and he is yet to get a gud score! May be we have to see how he performs here and try some experimentations in next match accrdingly!

Windies love to chase obviously no different here. Thought they would have gone with Chanderpaul opening with Gayle though.
