Looking forward to this match.. hope India wins :)

Nice Suren, love the graphics. Just one thing. When you write the teams out would it be possible to write them as text? For me would make it look much nicer :)

I wish you played Australia. Do you? What's the date of this match? March, April? AAugust?

Well, I played Australia in DLF series as well as in Champions Trophy. You can use the menus in first post for the quick guide :) I don't remember the date though.

India In SouthAfrica
India Vs SouthAfrica

Twenty20 Match,Johannesburg.
Innings 1, End of 5 Overs.

SA Skipper Taking the Control!
( Opening Bowlers look clueless )

Well, with all set ready, the first ball of this Twenty20 was delivered by Zaheer Khan. There was a huge huge noise from the stadium during the runner up of that first delivery. Gibbs faced the new ball with his skipper at non strikers end.

Solid Start by Gibbs.

gibbsaggressivexd5.jpg

The very first ball of this match was smashed hard by Gibbs to a boundary. Zaheer just sarcastically smiled at Gibbs and went back nodding his head. Indian skipper, Dhoni came all the way from his end to bowler's end to have some discussion with Zaheer and things returned to normal soon after that.

There was another boundary too in the same over(Sixth ball) and this frustrated the bowler even more further. This took SouthAfrica to a solid start too. With Smith taking over the very aggressive role, Gibbs soon converted his job from hitting boundaries to the job of keeping his captain on strike as much as possible. Understanding between these two was perfect which denied Indian bowlers, the chance of taking wickets.

Some Extras Under Pressure.

widesvi7.jpg

The small amount of pressure created in very first over, affected Sreesanth too in his very first over. Very first ball of Sreesanth was a huge wide in offside which, Dhoni collected it with great difficulties. Umpires, immediately, did the stretch up exercise signaling that one as wide. :p

In the very next ball, Sreesanth ran all the way to deliver another wide. This time, it was on leg side. Dhoni, unbelievingly, made a huge dive and prevented an extra boundary. These two big wides applied further pressure on Sreesanth. The captain came running towards the bowler and requested him to calm down. It seemed that Dhoni was having very tough time behind stumps as skipper.

Smith, The Perfect Skipper Role!

smithpa7.jpg

Sreesanth's pressure was well utilised by SouthAfrican skipper, Smith. Its to be noted that Smith already got off the mark with a fantastic boundary. He started to go over both the opening bowlers blindly. In other words, he just started dominating making the bowlers to look helpless and clueless.

In one of the overs of Sreesanth, Smith went over the top twice consecutively.... And on both those occasions, the ball almost reached fielders hands but, the fielder was not able to stop himself from crossing the ropes and hence resulting in lucky SIXES! These two big sixes further made Sree's face to turn pale. His skipper was just wondering, what this kid was doing.

After that, there were no signs of Smith stopping from hitting those regular boundaries. Both the opening bowlers were punished and Smith's scoring rate was just flying giving all the spectators of SA, a huge entertainment. One question was raised among all the Indian fans, i.e, what's preventing Dhoni to make a bowling change even after getting huge smashings! :what And as expected, Pathan was given the ball after the end of 5 expensive overs.

Smith Vs India.

smithzaheersreepi1.jpg

SouthAfrican skipper reached 48 in no time... He just took 18 balls to reach that. And as shown in pitch map, it was not that great attacking approach from Indian bowlers. They just offered widths for Smith to smash it all over. Atleast, they(bowlers) should have tried to suprise the batsmen with bouncers!

Smith's scoring rate, without any doubts, look very strong in offside. Its expected for any batsmen to have such a thing, when the bowlers are offering nice widths to be smashed. Anyways, this had provided the home team to look might with 70 runs in just 5 overs. Gibbs remained as silent customer after giving a aggressive start.

On Mic With Bishop ~ Sachin Tendulkar.

bishopyr1.jpg
: Welcome Sachin for a special short chat in between the game. After seeing the actions here, do you feel that you are missing this Twenty20 very much?

sachinxi2.jpg
: Well, the entertainment which this game provides is great. But its entirely a different format which is likely to fit more for the young players. So, I am happy as a spectator itself. :)

bishopyr1.jpg
: What do you reckon from the current situation of India? They are off to a bad expensive start!

sachinxi2.jpg
: With only 20 overs, batsmen have no other options rather than trying to hit each and every ball. With looking at the conditions here, its definitely going to be tough for the fast bowlers.. May be spinners could turn the things around. Two or three tight wicket taking overs will change the things as well. Hopefully, someone provides the needed breakthrough!

bishopyr1.jpg
: Well, thanks Sachin for joining this very short chat. Wish you good luck to provide some entertainments in upcoming ODIs. Now lets get back to the game and see whether the bowlers can bring their lost balance back!

sachinxi2.jpg
: Thank you, Ian. :)

What Can India do now???

partnershiptk8.jpg

So,with SA scoring at the run rate of 14 RPO, its completely not looking good for India. Some bowler had to stand up and create trouble to the mighty looking home team. Bowling change have been made, and expectations on Pathan/Murali Karthik to get those break-throughs are high among the Indian spectators. Have to wait and see what happens from the current situation though. Stay Tuned. :)

SA : 70/0( 5 Overs)
G.Smith : 48*(18)
H.Gibbs : 19*(12)

Sreesanth : 0/42(3 Overs)
Zaheer Khan : 0/27(2 Overs )

SA off to a Flying Start.

Brilliant start by SA. Indian bowlers are under tremendous pressure at the moment. Sree was too expensive and so was Zak. Pathan will make the much needed breakthrough i guess. Nice presentation mate :) KUTGW

Bloody hell India are taking a pounding a real hammering. Only 5 overs and 70+ runs thats mad you'll be looking to chase 300 if they carry on like this!

Good story btw!

70 off just 5 overs !
That is quite a lot....
God knows hopw much India will be chasing here today !

WOAH! That is a solid start from the Saffers. I hope India can bounce back in the game with a couple of quick wickets..

Brilliant batting by SA. Smith on fire! Could be heading for 250 if they continue scoring at 12 or above an over. Dhoni needs a big effort from his bowlers now...

Incredible start to the innings from South Africa, India need wickets as it is the only way to lower the run rate. I'd have expected more from Gibbs, but that doesn't really matter as Smith batting like a mad man more than makes up for it!

Fantastic presentation Suren!
