India In SouthAfrica IndiaVs SouthAfrica Twenty20 Match,Johannesburg. Innings 1.
Home Team batting First! ( Dhoni to Lead the team in this Twenty20, Dravid Not Playing. )
Welcome back to Johannesburg for the Twenty20 match between India and SouthAfrica, Live exclusively on ESPN. With the new format, new teams, definitely, entertainment is guaranteed to the spectators. However, India is playing its first Twenty20.. so, there might be few difficulties for them(India) to adapt to new format but, they had to. Another news from Indian side, the Big Three(Sachin,Sourav and Dravid) are not playing today which is bit suprising too. So, Dhoni is being appointed as captain in absence of Dravid. Without wasting any time now, lets go to pitch and weather reports.
Weather/Pitch Report.
Weather Report :- The weather here is absolutely fine. Sky is clear.. Not too hot condition either.. Its mild. There should be no bad weather interruptions for today's play. In other words, its completely a perfect cricketing atmosphere for this Twenty20.
Pitch Report :- Regarding the pitch, well, its looking hard. This means, the bounce is going to be even on this wicket and batsmen should be having no problems at all in getting the ball to come to the bat. This indeed, is a perfect condition for Twenty20 where you are gonna expect high scores within those Twenty overs.
However, its going to be tough for the bowlers. They had to bend their backs extremely hard to succeed in this type of wicket. Hard and flat, in general, always going to favour the batsmen...and to me, its no suprise for the captain to win this toss and and put his team to bat first utilizing these perfect conditions.
So, the weather and pitch conditions hold good for today's play. Toss is expected to play a major role here and lets see what happens in the toss now.
SA Won the Toss & Bats first.
Well, news from the toss is, SA captain, Smith have won the toss and without any hesitation, decides to bat first. This is expected though. But Indian captain, Dhoni(In absence of Dravid) stays positive that his young team is ready to face the challenge.
Its to be noted that Indian team neither have Tendulkar nor Ganguly nor Dravid. This is going to be a interesting challenge for the young team to face mighty top class opponents, SouthAfrica.
The SouthAfrican openers, Smith and Gibbs came out from the dressing room following the Indian players and umpires. There was a huge roaring noise from crowd while players were coming out of dressing room. Even the Big Three are found to be seated in dressing room and filled with excitements.
Teams.
SouthAfrica also have some interesting changes in their bowling department. Nel and Ntini are not playing in the team for today. Morkel and Steyn replaces Ntini and Nel. With Kallis, Kemp, Pollock, Boucher in the middle order, SouthAfrica seem to have strong middle order. With perfect batting conditions, the score of around 200 is what Smith might be having in his mind.
Regarding India, it looks completely different without Sachin,Dravid and Ganguly. Promising players like Sharma, Uthappa, Gambhir straight away get their chance in this game. However, there is massive pressure on Yuvraj and Dhoni to lead from front and guide the other young players. And, bowling look a bit weak too. 5th Bowling option is going to be a problem too. Have to see how this team is performing in absence of Big Three.
So, with all set for the actions to commence, we will return in few moments taking you straight away LIVE for the first ball of this Twenty20 Match between Indian and SouthAfrica in Johannesburg. Stay Tuned. SA : 0/0( 0 Overs) G.Smith : 0*(0)
H.Gibbs : 0*(0) SA Bats first.
Both team are evenly balanced but India will win according to me. Want to see Yuvi hitting 6 sixes in an over again . No need to say about the presentation its getting better and better day by day. All the best for the match
Great stuff Suren, I haven't visited your thread in a while, I've been waiting for the world cup to come around! This looks like a batsmens game for sure and I think India will edge it, 1 good bowling performance could win this though.
