Not a bad total in respect to being 12/5 early on. I expect India to really put up a good fight with the ball, but I still can see England winning it with quite a few wickets to spare.

Going to take a gamble and go with E just because your sneaky Suren ;) :p

I can see England winning this from this position sadly Yuvi and Dhoni were the stronghold that nobody needed. B is the answer. Great presentation KUTGW.

Thanks to Yuvi,Dhoni and ofcourse extras for taking the score up.Thats a great 19 runs over!Thats a poor total from India.Great Bowling from Hoggard(6/23).Im still having hope on the Indian Bowlers. And i will go with E

That was really out of form batting by India. But Yuvi and Dhoni saved India by getting a respective total. Still i think India will. I will go with option C (35-45 overs.)

Well England have outplayed India with their bowling. But just feel there might be a surprised store for us. India may take this to the last few overs and also may win. Well played yuvi to save some blushes of the Indians. Hoggard was brilliant and good to see him take 6 wickets.

I still go for India to win and the result will be decided in the last five overs

I still give India a chance to push England in this game. It is going to be hard though.

Match in Balance

bannertitleey7.jpg

Well with just 174 to chase for the victory, English batsmen - Cook and Strauss, arrived at the crease with determination of chasing the target. Dhoni took some time to set the field. In-fact, there was some seriousness observed in Dhoni's face when he was talking to the bowler and his fielders. New ball was given to Ishant Sharma straight away. Huge cheering noise for both the sides existed despite this being a low scoring game.

Attacking Strategy for the Debutant Skipper!

attackinfieldjf9.jpg

" It's been many years since we saw
a 'Aussie' type of attacking field in Indian team..
isn't it??? :p "
- In the thoughts of Indian fans!

Tendulkar, Dhoni, Sharma, Sehwag had some serious discussion and finally Dhoni came to conclusion of keeping 4 slips for the new ball bowler, Sharma. Some spectators found it interesting while some were still thinking, ' Was that a correct move made by Dhoni? '. Since Ishant being a debutant, having so much of confidence on this debutant and that too, in this low scoring game.... made people to think themselves, right or wrong? ;)

But Ishant Sharma did not let his captain's confidence down. He started off his international career in an impressive manner. He sticked to a tight line and made the ball to swing and started his career with couple of runs in the very first over. Pathan shared the new ball with Sharma.

Cook, An Unfortunate Victim of Pathan.

"Isn't it a right time for Bucknor to retire from umpiring ?"
(...Please wait for some time to fully load...)

Pathan straight away gave a breakthrough with his impressive line from over the wicket for the left handed, Cook. When Pathan went over the wicket against the left handed batsman, it took everyone by surprise once again. Starting off the bowling in an unusual style in crucial conditions is just a big gamble but Pathan was rewarded in this gamble.

Pathan delivered an ordinary delivery which swung only a little towards the batsman and Cook was decieved. He(batsman) tried to pull that one away for runs but unfortunately, he didn't get any placement on the bat.. Ball just decieved him and struck the thigh pad straight away. Bowler, the skipper and the fielders immediately went for a huge appeal....

Bucknor remained unmoved for a moment but when the shout(appeal) was dying out, slowly umpire's finger raised up giving the benefit in favor of the bowler. Cook was stunned but Indian players started to celebrate this opening breakthrough. However, the replays and hawkeye showed that Cook was very unlucky to be given out as the ball was never in the line of the hitting the stumps.

Bell Joined Cook Immediately!

bellout2ndwicketru3.jpg

Was the delivery soooo good from Pathan? Or
Was it just because of batsman's Poor Concentration?

Pathan bowled another beauty to Bell which made the batsman to stay clueless. The ball pitched outside off-stump and had a swing into the batsman which made Bell to play the delivery.

Unfortunately, the timing was poor that Bell got a thick inside edge and ball struck the stumps directly. Bell stood clueless for a moment but everything is over.. Indian players started to celebrate yet another breakthrough. Bell walked back to pavilion with disappointed face. Pietersen arrived at the crease with too much pressure of loosing two early wickets.

It's Bucknor Again!:eek::mad:

kpcaughtbehindappeallj6.gif

Enough of hearing about Bucknor's bad decisions?
(...Please wait for some time to fully load...)

In one of Pathan's over, a magnificent delivery was bowled which made Pietersen to play at the ball. He also got a thick edge and the ball straight away went safely to keeper's hands. Pathan did not even bother to turn back at the umpire.. rather he ran straight towards his skipper thinking that it was the third wicket in his spell.

But Dhoni and other slips-men kept on appealing.. which made the bowler to realize that umpire didn't give that one OUT still. Immediately he turned towards the umpire and made a big shout but umpire remain unmoved and told that it was NOT OUT.. The replays showed that there was a thick edge from the bat which was indeed confirmed from Snickometer.

Dhoni and his men were denied of celebrating the yet another major breakthrough for England. Pietersen, however had a sarcastic laugh at the bowler.

Sharma Finally Rewarded for his Great Bowling.

strausswktjh6.jpg

Good that there was no Bucknor
in both the Ends!:p

One of the main plus points for the debutant bowler, Sharma was, he tried to keep the ball straight as much as possible with surprise swings. This reminded everyone of McGrath's bowling.. Oh well, its too early to compare this young bowler with the legendary fast bowler.

In one of deliveries of Sharma to Strauss, he bowled a straight one to the batsman which he(Strauss) tried to put it away in leg side. But the ball struck the pads and immediately there was huge shout from the bowler and keeper. Umpire without any hesitation, raised his finger and gave Strauss OUT!

Celebration continued for India and the third early wicket kept India well ahead of England in this contest. Strauss made a disappointing walkback towards the pavilion.

Some Recovering Acts from KP and Flintoff.

entertainmentrg3.jpg

Some brave shots were attempted from batsman and,
it was rewarded too with runs!

After loosing three early wickets, England were kept in massive pressure. To break this shackle, both the batsmen, Pietersen and Flintoff started to go over the bowlers blindly.

Some magnificent drives came from Pietersen which was magnificent to watch. Even a single slightly overpitched delivery in offside was put to the boundary ropes by Kevin Pietersen. In other end, Flintoff even started to go over the top. He smashed one of Pathan's deliveries to the maximum where ball just went over the head of Ishant Sharma.

Dhoni made bowling changes and tried to maintain the pressure momentum going.. but both these batsmen seemed to go so smoothly. Munaf and Harbhajan were introduced but the runs seem to come in a smooth flow for England taking the pressure off a bit.

Once again, India in Front!

wkt4and5hm1.jpg

Can't the batsmen just rotate singles and take the match close?

It was when the things started to go smoothly for England, Pietersen became the victim of Pathan. The delivery was pitched very wide outside the off-stump and Pietersen smashed that away in offside... but it landed safely in Harbhajan's hands. Indians once again started to celebrate the breakthrough provided by Pathan. Steve Waugh in dressing room was also seen happy for the first time in dressing room in this match. Pathan celebrated his third wicket of the match.

Immediately, Munaf Patel got rid of Flintoff. In one of the overs of Munaf, Dhoni had a discussion with the bowler and stood just behind the stumps. And Munaf seemed to maintain the very basic of the bowling right.. He was bowling in tight line which became tough for the batsmen to put the ball away for runs. In one of slow cutters of Munaf, Flintoff lost his patience and swept away but Kohli took an amazing catch diving to the front. This increased the wicket column for England to 5!

With five wickets gone.... with Collingwood and keeper, Read being the last recognized batting pair... with just less than 100 runs to get, it is going to be interesting to see how England and India are going to manage their current situation. Dhoni would be looking for one more wicket for exposing the English bowler lineup and there is plenty for work left for the hard working Collingwood to take his team on safe path. Lets wait and see what happens next.. Till then, Stay Tuned on S-T-A-R S-P-O-R-T-S.. :)

Its time for Bucknor to get out of Cricket :p lol..India is in good position and they can restrict England for <150 if they continue this form. And absolutely a great performance from Pathan however its a not out for Cook :p

:happy Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments and views :happy Sorry, the work in my office has increased again that I was not able to update regularly.. Weekly update is what I am trying these days. Sorry for making the members to wait. Thanks again everyone for the great comments and views which keep me going irrespective of the busy schedule. :) thanks again.

g'day old mate hows it going? just had a quick squiz over your story. unbelievable is realistically the only word i can use to come close to describing it. i havent been on here constantly for about 2 years and the consistant steps youve taken to improve it is remarkable. new story writers (and old ones) should take note of how you go about your business. well done

also mate. might end up getting the net again, any news of any new cricket games coming on the market soon? unfortunately ea05 is gooooone (not by my chosing).

cheers mate. well done
MWaugh

Hi mate.. It's really nice to see you again here. And it will be even more fantastic if another story starts off from you, the legendary writer.

And regarding me, everything seems to go fine in my life at the moment. Just my busy schedule in office denies me the opportunity of login to this PC regularly like before.

Regarding cricket games, I am not sure whether either TAOC and cricket revolution will be released in near future. I think for the moment, NO there are no cricket games. But you know what, completely patched EA 05 is 10000000...000 times better than EA 07 and I still enjoy and still play EA 05 :) Thanks again for the compliments as it is always nice to receive compliments form the writers like you. Thanks again, take care :)

India dominating well here. KP and flintoff did well but fell to silly shots. once again im marvelled at the presentation. well done mate kutgw

Wow, I now see how you have managed to keep everyone interested in your story for more than 2 years. Awesome presentation and write up. Cant wait for the next update.

Suren's updated! I think I leaked a little down below... ;)

Breath taking update as per the normal Suren, the quality of your work has always been at such a standard. England have been unfortunate with some terrible mistakes by Bucknor. They've got to try and recover especially with Flintoff and Pietersen. I'd say India are definitely in the driving seat. Pathan has been in terrific form and if he can get a few more wickets then he is definitely worth a shout of Man of the match.

Unbelievable story that will never be forgotted here Suren, i'm anticipating the next update whenever it may come. :happy

Suren's updated his story! :)

Well despite the 5 wickets going down, I think England may just sneak the match as the asking rate is just 3 runs per over. In order for England to win, I think Collingwood must be there till the end.

Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! Works Suren bhai! :hpraise

Another wicket will break England's back. The tail will have to bat sensibly.

I'm going over there to India and I am going to tell your boss to give you time off work to reguarly update your story :p

Best update in the story forum for ages, Suren. Fantastic stuff by India, really have bowled well, although the umpires appear to be all over the place. I can see India winning this, within the next 10 overs. Looking forward to next update to find out where this match goes. Keep up the stunning work mate
