Also, I had to say one more thing... India don't have their 5th specialist bowler.. I am also clueless how this match is going to go from now ;) Lets see..

I'm going over there to India and I am going to tell your boss to give you time off work to reguarly update your story :p

Best update in the story forum for ages, Suren. Fantastic stuff by India, really have bowled well, although the umpires appear to be all over the place. I can see India winning this, within the next 10 overs. Looking forward to next update to find out where this match goes. Keep up the stunning work mate

haha.. I would be very glad and very much relieved if you do that really... :p :D

surendar added 1 Minutes and 35 Seconds later...

Suren's updated! I think I leaked a little down below... ;)

Breath taking update as per the normal Suren, the quality of your work has always been at such a standard. England have been unfortunate with some terrible mistakes by Bucknor. They've got to try and recover especially with Flintoff and Pietersen. I'd say India are definitely in the driving seat. Pathan has been in terrific form and if he can get a few more wickets then he is definitely worth a shout of Man of the match.

Unbelievable story that will never be forgotted here Suren, i'm anticipating the next update whenever it may come. :happy

Suren's updated his story! :)

Well despite the 5 wickets going down, I think England may just sneak the match as the asking rate is just 3 runs per over. In order for England to win, I think Collingwood must be there till the end.

Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! Works Suren bhai! :hpraise

Another wicket will break England's back. The tail will have to bat sensibly.

Wow, I now see how you have managed to keep everyone interested in your story for more than 2 years. Awesome presentation and write up. Cant wait for the next update.

India dominating well here. KP and flintoff did well but fell to silly shots. once again im marvelled at the presentation. well done mate kutgw

Its time for Bucknor to get out of Cricket :p lol..India is in good position and they can restrict England for <150 if they continue this form. And absolutely a great performance from Pathan however its a not out for Cook :p

:happy Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments and views which keeps me motivated whatever the situation is for me here. Thank you.. :happy

That should be a really close game. England should have surely played slow and tried to keep their wickets in hand.

Nice stuff! KUTGW!!

India need one wicket over here and the match would be theirs. But if Read and Colly get on with the partnership India are in trouble. Just below 4 an over his needed and that's achievable. Indians need to bowl sensibly and not the let them score easy runs.

Presentation and Writing great as usual :clap

Well, well well.... The umpires in an EA cricket game are doing their good old tricks again!!!!!! Mind you, they are pretty realistic considering it Steve Bucknor who was umpiring!!!! In Australia!!!!! :p

Top class work as usual Suren. :clap

Who is Going to Win this First Match???

With five wickets gone in first twenty overs, the pressure on Colly and Read was massive since they were the last recognized batting pairs. Both the batsmen responded to this pressure situation in a matured way though. Dhoni and his men, with frequent bowling changes tried to attack these two batsmen but, batsmen remained calm and patient. They were taking frequent singles and kept rotating the strikes. Scorecard for England went past 100 and finally, some hopes were brought back again for English men. But the hopes once again took a twisting turn!

Pathan, Once Again Gets a Lucky Wicket.

collingoutcz1.jpg

"Can't Bucknor just announce his retirement from umpiring ?"

In one of the deliveries of Pathan to Collingwood, batsman tried to pull the normal delivery of Pathan. But it got a slight inside edge and striked the pads of the Colly. The edge was very minor though. Bowler, in an enthusiastic manner, started appealing.. Immediately, Dhoni and his men started appealing too. Colly showed the bat to umpire. Still, to everyone's surprise, Bucknor lifted his finger up giving Pathan the benefit of the doubt.

Collingwood just can't believe that he was given out. He gave a sarcastic smile at the umpire and left the field with very frustrated face. The replays showed clearly that there was a slight inside edge and hot spot confirmed it too. How can umpire be sooooooo blind?:eek::eek:

Englishmen feeling SICK of this BUCKNOR!

hoggardoutah4.jpg

"What the hell is happening for the English batters?
Is the match being fixed or what?:rolleyes::rolleyes:"

Hoggard was defending the balls as much as he can and was giving a good support for Read to carry on the momentum. This partnership which was around 30 runs, frustrated the Indian players too. Atlast, men from both the dressing room sat tensed!!!!

It was Bucknor again.... This time, Ishant Sharma was the bowler. He bowled an excellent delivery to Hoggard. There was nothing wrong in that delivery. It was too accurate for the batsmen that he missed it completely while attempting to play at it. Strangely, Dhoni heard some noise and started appealing towards the umpire.

Even Ishant raised a half-hearted appeal. But the finger GOES UP AGAIN!:mad::mad: Some of the fielders there were surprised as well. Nevertheless, Indian team started celebrating the wicket. Hoggard was too disappointed. Players from English dressing room felt like that they had to call the match off for such a poor umpiring. The score went to 148 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The match still looked in balance with Read going on so well for England.

Two Quick Wickets, Bringing India in Front.

wick89me2.jpg

"Atlast, some Genuine Wickets! :p"

Ishant Sharma had an excellent last spell. He took three quick wickets. After Hoggard, Mahmood & Plunket too followed quickly to the dressing room. Sajid Mahmood was bowled by a magnificent delivery where the batsman stood clueless.

And Plunkett attempted a silly pull shot in one of the short pitched deliveries of Ishant Sharma which resulted in a clear top edge. The ball went very high in the air and Dhoni had no problems in following the path of the ball and taking it cleanly. Indian players were delighted to have England down for 9 wickets with still around 10 runs to get.

Read, The Lonely English Warrior.

readknockby1.jpg

"One Batsman in the whole English team playing exactly what Yuvraj played for India..."

Right from the time England were five down, this batsman(Read) kept the momentum going and kept the hopes of English win ALIVE! He played some glorious drives and found many middle of the bat placements. Read was also found comfortable against Harbhajan Singh.

Read smashed some boundaries and prevented the English spectators from walking off the stadium because of the poor umpiring and batting collapse. Bowlers including Pathan and Ishant(who bagged 4 wickets each) were clueless against this batsman. Read outsmarted all the bowlers and made Yuvraj Singh to go mad in his only one over where 20 runs came for England. He received standing ovations from English dressing room when he went past his half century. :hpraise

Who is going to Win - England, India or UMPIRE???

canreaddoityq0.jpg

" All the hopes on this ONE man - READ! "

So, at the end of 45 overs, the score card for England reached 170 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Monty Panesar was on strike and Read on Non Striker end. With 5 good overs remaining, there is really no hurry for England. But Dhoni has pressed the panic button since his specialist bowlers - Pathan,Ishant,Munaf and Harbhajan finished their 10 overs spell.

Now who is going to bowl next? What Dhoni is going to do? What Read is going to suggest Panesar? What Panesar is going to do? OR what the Umpire is going to do?

ALL STILL REMAINS AS A MYSTERY! ;) Stay Tuned on S-T-A-R S-P-O-R-T-S.. We will be right back! :)

England : 170/9(45 Overs, Run Rate : 3.78 R/O)

MOTM : Question Yet to be Asked.

The umpire is having an amazing game...(!) :p

England have had this match stole away from them and hopefully they can win the match, as they deserve it. They would of rather had Read on strike but perhaps Monty can rotate the strike and make Read get the winnings runs. It's going to be close but I'm going to say an England victory, which they deserve.

Great graphics and writing, Suren. Awesome to see an update. :)

Brilliant as always Suren, although I'm not too keen on this suspense :p

Does a tie also come under no result? If so I think i could be onto a winner. Great game, look forward to seeing the last few moments unfold!

Suren, another class update mate. Great climax to the England innings however my bet's that Bucknor will spoil the England party!

If Read can stay on, then i say England will win, but he will need a lot of support from his team mates.

Very good update again mate, loving this story, shame on the lack of updates lately, but when you do update them, they are class

A Very Controversial End to the Match!

bannertitleey7.jpg

Well, with all the specialist bowlers finishing their quotas, Dhoni had a quite long discussion for deciding the next bowler to bowl at this crucial time. He had quite selected options - Sehwag, Yuvraj and Tendulkar. Since Tendulkar has loads of experience, after talking to Tendulkar for quite some time, he handed the ball to Sachin Tendulkar.

Tendulkar Put Under Pressure with the Ball.

sachinfinalover.jpg

"Can he do it again by removing this Monty Panesar ???"

Its to be noted that Sachin has won quite few matches with his bowling at depth overs. Some years back, Tendulkar was given the crucial last over by Azharuddin against Australia in Titan cup and he won the match for India. This came to mind of some fans in the stadium.. All they were hoping was, THE REPEAT OF THE PAST!

In the meantime, the batsman Read too had a discussion with Panesar. It should be definitely about getting Read to the striker's end or trying to defend the over safely. Both the dressing room sat quite tensed. Both the coaches were seen biting their nails. None of the players in dressing room were sitting and they were found anxiously waiting for this result.

And..... Monty got ready to face clever part timer, Sachin Tendulkar. Field was set in a very attacking mode by Dhoni. Monty's face showed some nervousness. Read's face showed eagerness to get to the striker's end.

" CAN ENGLAND WIN IT? ", in the mind of all the English fans there in the stadium.

:happyFantastic Delivery to Get Rid of Monty.:happy

montyoutnoball.jpg

"Tendulkar is always CUNNING whether it's batting or bowling....."

Tendulkar went around the wicket to the left handed batsman. Dhoni had some inconvenience in Sachin bowling from that angle. But the skipper never minded that since Tendulkar is very much aware of what he is doing!

Huge roar came from both the side's spectators when Sachin started his runner up. It was a quick flipper straight away to Monty from Sachin. Panesar tried to defend the ball, but the batsman was very nicely deceived and struck the stumps.

Monty was clean bowled by Sachin. Bowler and the skipper, Dhoni started to jump with joy. Indian fans in the stadium started jumping from their stands. Coach from the Indian dressing room raised his both the hands and started jumping. Some Indian players in dressing room were about to run from the dressing room to the stadium to celebrate this victory...

While all these happening in fraction of seconds... suddenly,

PEOPLE WHO WERE JUMPING STOOD STUNNED! Why?

Smell of Indian Victory was ONLY FOR FEW SECONDS !

noball.jpg

" England atlast, favored by FORTUNE! "

A bit delayed shout came from the umpire, BUCKNOR. He signalled, " No Ball! ". Tendulkar can't believe whether he is in his real world or some dreams. Monty Panesar had some huge smile at the bowler. The smile annoyed many Indian players though.

Dhoni stood frustrated behind the stumps. Its not sure whether that frustration was on the bowler or the umpire or with himself or with something. Indian fans could not believe this. They thought that India had won this match. Even the Indian dressing room caught the tensed momentum again.

What does the Replay suggests ???

replayofnoball.jpg

" Bucknor is GOD of this particular match :D :p :) "

Sachin went back to Bucknor and was cross checking his foot mark at the crease. Bowler was completely not satisfied with umpire's decision. Sachin nods his head in quite sarcastic way.

Replay displayed that some part of Tendulkar's foot mark was still rooted to the crease line. But as per the cricket rules,

For a delivery to be fair in respect of the feet, in the delivery stride:

1. The bowler's back foot must land within and not touching the return crease.

2. The bowler's front foot must land with some part of the foot, whether grounded or raised, behind the popping crease.

If the umpire at the bowler's end is not satisfied that both these conditions have been met, he shall call and signal "No-ball".

Since Tendulkar's front foot was on the line, Bucknor seem to be correct this time with his No ball call. Tendulkar's front was not found grounded or raised BEHIND the popping crease.

Match Atlast Over with England Winning!

englandwin.jpg

" Monty Hitting a boundary surprises all English fans than,
this V-I-C-T-O-R-Y :p "

Dhoni still encouraged the bowler and his team for the next delivery. Tendulkar went back to bowl his next delivery after the things got settled down.

It was a leg break from Sachin Tendulkar. This time, batsman judged it perfectly and Panesar placed it with the middle of his bat and the ball went in the gaps between the fielders. The chase was in vain as Monty's confidence smash drove the ball to the fence quickly. Confidence of that shot surprised everyone including the players in English dressing room.

So, thats the end of the match! With all the dramas, England managed to win this match in a style with boundary coming from Panesar. Read's steady knock was really a main key for this English victory. Though it was a low total, and with conditions favoring the bowlers, Indian bowlers never gave up till the end. Dhoni and his men displayed a wonderful fight back after setting a low score target for Englishmen. Pathan and Ishant Sharma remained as the main troubles for the batsmen throughout. Only if the bowlers were allowed to bowl than their 10 overs, India could have won the match with Ishant and Pathan alone. ;) In particular, Ishant Sharma playing his first international match, won the hearts of many Indian crowds despite the loss. Last but not least, Bucknorrrrrrrr.... His decisions did bring some interesting turning points to the game, but in the end, England got what they deserved! Thats the end of the match.. And we will be right back for all the LIVE actions in next match, which is England Vs Australia. :) Hope you have enjoyed this coverage..and it's bye from the studio. :)
