Story India's search for World Supremacy - Windies v India - 5th ODI up, 5-0 or 4-1?

Thanks for the comment Audrey, much appreciated.

Aye they still can win but with Badrinath and co. in the form they are in at the moment, it's very unlikely. :p

Then again never lose hope! :D

India Whitewash

Dave Mohammed bowling and getting hit for four

Well the last innings of the One Day International series between India and West Indies is about to commence. India require a small total of 87 runs at 1.7 runs an over in what should be an easy victory for the Indians. Munaf Patel just bowled incredible as he got 7 wickets for 9 runs and bowled the best this series, some wonderful bowling. Pathan, Kumble and H Singh all chipped in with 1 wicket but G Singh walked away with no wickets, unfortunately. Onto the batting for West Indies and it was dreadful. No batsman made over 15, as only 5 made over 10! If West Indies want a chance in the Test series against India then they will need to perform better. India should chase this total down very easily.

Opening 10 overs
A good average start takes place as India, in no need to hurry, get the run rate ticking along at a quick 4.20 runs an over at the 5 over mark. Subram Badrinath making 17* with Rawat on 4*, having only faced 7 of the 30 balls. Some nice strokes by both the batsmen take us to a good opening 10 overs score of 38, meaning we only need 49 more runs to win. Chandan Rawat made 12* off 22 balls in the first 10 overs which included one well hit four. Subram Badrinath got to 25* off 39 balls as he looks to want his half century which he so usually gets. 3 fours helped him get there but I can see many more coming. No near chances or wickets for West Indies though as they start to bowl quite poorly. Bravo and Smith both ending the 10 overs with figures of 0-19 off 5 overs.

20 overs gone
As the power plays start being enforced, Rawat starts to get the runs and Badrinath rotates the strike. It now seems unlikely that either of the batsman will get their half century. West Indies finally get a sniff of a wicket in the 17th over as Subram Badrinath played and missed a ball on his off stump, which just missed the stump. Close shave. No wickets yet as the 20 over comes up on the board, India now only need 22 runs! A pretty dire 10 over spell as India don't go for it and let West Indies do some economical bowling. Chandan Rawat managed to get to 27* off 55, with his opening partner getting 36* off 67. 65/0 is the score and India need to get 22 runs at 0.7 runs an over.

End of Innings
Some fours timed to perfection from Badrinath ensure that he gets his 4th half century of the series, and yet another not out score. 86 balls it took him and he brought it up with yet another four. A lovely innings as per usual and hopefully he can take this form into the Test series. Rawat then gets the last run to make sure India win by 10 wickets! A comprehensive victory right there for India and that concludes the One Day series, making it a whitewash for India; 5-0. Badrinath was as super as ever getting his 50* off 86 balls whilst Rawat made 32* off 70. A good opening stand of 87* enforced the victory and it never looked in doubt thanks to Munaf Patel earlier in the match. Superb.

That's the end of the match and that's the end of the series, resulting in a very easy whitewash for India. They took West Indies apart in every single ODI and looked like wining them all all the time bar one. They have shown their true colours with a very young squad which seems to have great ambition and will do well in the future. West Indies only bowled 25 overs but they still couldn't manage the wicket of 25 year old Badrinath and 19 year old Rawat. All the bowlers had a run rate per over of over 3 apart from Amit Jaggernauth who only conceded 2.83 an over. Bravo was the only one to bowl his entire spell as he bowled 10 overs, resulting in no wicket and conceding 34 runs. None of the West Indies bowlers really got a major chance of getting either of the batsmen out and it was a very easy and controlled victory, thanks to many good performances. Now, the batting for the Series winners, India. Only two batsman got to the crease so not alot to actually say apart from what they did do was very good. Chandan Rawat, who is only 19 years old, made his ODI debut this series and has managed to get into 4 matches this series. He hit 32* which is his second highest score, which is a little disappointing but he did all he could and looked set for his 50, but he still has to look for his maiden 50 in a One Day International. Now onto the big big man of the tournament. Subram Badrinath has been the breath of fresh air for India this series and continued that in this match as he hit another 50. Every single one of his innings this season have resulted in either a 50 or a 100. He got 50* and that helps takes his average in ODI to 169.50. Let's hope he can do half as well in Tests. A very controlled innings and a fantastic win. Kudos to all the players involved.

India 87/0
Badrinath 50*
Rawat 32*

India win by 10 wickets and win the series 5-0

Man of the Match - Munaf Patel

Too easy for India, West Indies should just give up now. Badrinth is just incredible at the moment, someday though, he will fail dramatic.

Great update mate, keep it up!:)

Fantastic updates James, the Windies were hammered by some excellent play by India KUTGW.

What a easy series. 5-0! I must say the guys have performed for you Jaz. Great batting again by Badrinath. He is on fire.

Great works Jaz. What is the next tour planned?

The next tour? Well we have got to finish of this one first. :D

I think this story may be stopped or at least put on hold as I've started a football story in the other games section. I may come back and do this, but i'll probably start another story rather continue this.
