India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

Bring back those long days in the field! This first day I'm afraid will be long and boring in the field just like the 2011 tour. See for all of you who didn't want Bhuvi in the lineup, aaron and shami bowling senseless lines and lengths we need someone who has control over their line and length along with ishant to bowl. Also, 4 bowlers??? India is going to find out that 4 bowlers is not enough, you need 5 in overseas conditions to allow others to get enough rest in between spells.

Aaron has been a let down, but I have hopes from him yet. No bowler has excited me quite like Aaron has. Hopefully he can pick one and then a few more will follow.

Shami I think is more in the ODI mould.[DOUBLEPOST=1418089231][/DOUBLEPOST]Wow just as I type this, Aaron gets one. Now rip them apart Aaron :D

Good catch Dhawan. Its great to see the slips holding onto the wickets.

This is what happens when you don't have Ashwin in the slip. They need to keep up with the catching because this wicket is an absolute road. So the fielders have to take every single chance they are presented with. It wasn't a good delivery but glad Varun has a wicket, might help boost his confidence.

That was a terrible shot by Watson btw. Not worthy of a guy batting at no.3 on the first day of the test match .. (why exactly does he occupy the coveted no.3 position?)

Also interesting to see the Aussies footwork against spin. Looks so very confident in home conditions

Toooo many easy singles given in the second half of the session, esp by Aaron. Kohli needs to tighten up that field

I still don't get that round the wicket strategy against David Warner. There is no way he is going to get out there unless he plays a stupid shot like Watson did. Ishant especially should bowl against him over the wicket.

Just 24 over bowled in the first session ... some serious over-rate issues there. They clearly didn't want Warner getting a 100 pre-lunch that those 6 extra overs would have given him a shot at :D

The wickets sort of flatter India. Its been Australia on top easily, and those two wickets kinda paint a flattering picture.

On the positive side though a quick one post lunch would really spice things up.[DOUBLEPOST=1418091051][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think they wanted to angle the ball into Warner to deny him room to swing the arms. Didn't work though.

There's going be some serious concerns.regarding fitness as the India decides to play 4 bowlers today. This is looking like a long two days in the field and in the end each bowler will have probably bowled 35+ overs which is just ridiculous. I think zaheer and ishant bowled 40+ overs in the Wellington test when McCullum obliterated india. Also, I think the people who favored an aggressive captain and we're highly critical of Dhoni can now see that anyone captaining this india side would be helpless cause we just don't have bowlers who can bowl consistent line and lengths. I think India will have lost the math and the series itself at the end of the 1st day. It's all probably going to be downhill from here just like 2011.

The mistakes of 2011 are being repeated, and I wouldnt be surprised if the result is identical :) The moment we went with 4 specialist bowlers and lost the toss on a good batting wicket, the horrors of 2011 flashed through ..

It will be very difficult to salvage anything from the game is Aus score 500+, which looks very likely.
