India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

Trust me, you really don't want to hear channel 9 because apart from when Ian Chappel and Mark Taylor are on, I basically watch it on mute. Guys like Ian Healy, James Brayshaw, Mark Nicholas are so bad, it's like listening to Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar on star sports.

I cannot agree more. It was some really terrible commentary. They were behaving like fans instead of commentators - talking about what they "wish and hope" would happen (in favor of Aus) rather than reporting and talking about what was actually happening.

And thanks for that twitter listing haha

Good to see all batsmen getting runs. And well played Captain Kohli - leading from the front like a champ

Its funny how Rohit, despite being on 30 and scoring a double ton in an ODI a couple of weeks back still instills zero confidence.

And how confident were you in Vijay going into the South Africa tour?

@Epic, see what I was saying during the England tour? I have absolutely no idea how Rahane makes runs. Not complaining, but he looks like a tailender half the time.
@PokerAce it was a compliment to Rahane! It's clear he works so hard on his game. He's very gritty, and obviously he's doing something right to have done so well. But he's not always the prettiest to watch.

Lyon has bowled so well today. Deserves everything he's got. No luck there.
I feel like you're catching all his streaky innings and not the ones where he impersonates Pujara, but I forget what was exactly said during the England tour, was it his performance in the tour as a whole or just few innings? Like I thought he was pretty solid at Lord's, and I do think certain players just never look fully comfortable or "tight" out there, but continue to make the runs while a guy like Pujara makes 1 mistake an inning and is often out because of it.

On Lyon, I'm not taking anything away from him, but considering our pacers really went out their way to create the rough for him to exploit... he better do something with it.[DOUBLEPOST=1418310662][/DOUBLEPOST]On Channel 9 commentary, I'm not bothered because it really isn't intended to be heard by anyone outside of Australia and instead my problem is with Sky for not having a designated commentary team commentating over the live feed from Australia, like they usually do for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

Problem with Ravi Shastri is understandable. But why hate commentary of Gavaskar ?
Such an intelligent and wise little master... I mean he explains situations in a match better than anyone.

I still think we should not go overboard with this performance. Australia are still very much ahead. And also, we competed well even in England for the first two tests, only to wilt away completely in the third and fourth tests (and that too quite embarrassingly) to lose the series 3-1.

Aus 90 overs - 354/6

They said "Indian bowlers are not effective"

Ind 90 overs - 360/5

They said " Pitch is now Flat ,No help for Aus Bowlers".

Nah no one said that and tbh Indians bowlers are crap (Sharma is your best bowler for christ sake)

Sharma has bowled really well and therefore is our best bowler. This is a batting beauty and both teams bowlers have struggled. Australia having the advantage of a big total to defend, have obviously looked slightly better but even then, they have conceded 422 here with still 3 more wkts to take.

Hope Wriddhi can farm as much strike here and try to take us to 475 odd. If we can get there, then it would be game on.

I feared this would happen. A healthy lead is on the cards. IF Warner gets going again, we could be chasing 350-400 odd on a day5 pitch with Lyon in full form

Still, it has been a solid batting performance by the team. 400+ is always good to see

I don't understand this around the wicket tactic. It's not working!

Interestingly poised this game now. I am sure Warner will try to take on the attack again post-lunch.

We are sorely missing Ashwin/Jadeja. Karn just doesnt seem to be comfortable enough at this level. Hope he ups his game in the post-Lunch sessions. Rohit needs to be tried out as well

Australia have got a pretty handy lead here. Warner will be key and we need to get him early after lunch otherwise, it will be very hard to even get a draw. Round the wicket tactic has been absolute useless and they are still doing it and just helping Nathan Lyon. Karn Sharma needs to up his game for us to have any chance here. Why is Varun Aaron not bowling?

that was good field placement .. wish it was warner though
