India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

Ishant is bowling so well here. He is at his best when he gets the ball to move away from the right handers and that's what he is doing right now. Hope he can get a wicket or two in this spell, he has deserved it. I also don't understand the reason for not bowling Varun Aaron, is he injured?

ahahaha that's the best way of really annoying a team

That was fun haha

sending off a batsmen is one of the worst things about modern cricket and I'm glad that David Warner decided to return it when he walked back

It was not even a send off. He was just excited that he finally got a chance to bowl and got a wicket for his team straight away. He just said "come on" and we all know how big of an A hole David Warner can be. Aaron has to be smart here and try to vary his pace just to keep the batsmen in check.

Poor session for us. A couple more wickets were needed.

Australia will really up the ante in the next session now since they have 9 wkts intact. We need wickets. Only way to control things

He's a good bowler and its nice to see a bowler with real pace since that sort of bowler is a real joy to watch: especially if he develops a little more control and temperament to stop sending wides down through the slips.

...god, I can't believe that I described an Indian pace bowler as "a joy to watch"!

About the send-off. That hardly qualifies as a send-off. He screamed cmon 3 times. There was no clapping or sending off as far as I noticed (they dint show too many replays).

As I said, there was no send off, it was just him being excited for finally getting a chance to ball after 32 overs. Again, both Ishant and Varun bowled well but there was no one on the other end to build the pressure. We now need to bat really well tomorrow to save this match.

Shami with reverse swing is going to be deadly as we saw against WI in that Tendulkar farewell series. Need a couple more wickets quickly. Bring on Aaron from the other side.

And didn't they play together for Delhi Daredevils? Not sure, I don't follow the IPL that well, but I thought they were both Daredevils players at the same time at some point?

They did play for Delhi together couple of seasons ago. It was also funny to see Dhawan having a go at him even though they play for the same IPL side right now.

Having seen Clarke`s captaincy in the past, he is someone who sets up exciting declarations. If he wants to get India in to bat today, Australia have to target another 100 runs in the next 20 overs or so. Can India nip some wickets and slow it down? For me, Aaron`s spell and Shami getting reverse has been very encouraging from the point of view of the rest of the series. I don`t mind Varun spraying it around a little if he can force wickets. I hope we give Aaron some time. Control will come with time and he will learn to bowl within himself during periods of the game where the opposition are running away with it. We saw how Johnson was pretty expensive in the Indian innings as well. Bowlers who can bowl with express pace do tend to be expensive now and then, and Varun is just 3 tests old. His spell with the old ball has been really good. He has clocked 145+ and pushed 150 consistently. That is express territory which very few bowlers in the world can achieve. Lets handle him well here and not be too harsh on him. Shami has looked good today as well.

If India can manage to escape this test unscathed, our bowling might be in better shape at the GABBA, which would offer more help to them in any case.
