India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

Starc's been talking shit literally after every delivery too, there's Harris and then there's this twat.

Aussies complain when someone hits them back. They weren't able to knock down Kohli and thats why Warner said 'No send-offs'. They wont improve.

Upsets the balance of the team. Especially with Rohit's reluctance to drop down the batting order, it becomes much more difficult for Vijay to be adjusted in the scheme of things.
Honestly, I'd prefer to see Rahane and Dhawan open as I am not convinced by 264 to that extent.

True. I see why they didn't want Vijay. With Rohit, Dhawan and Rahane available as the opening options, probably the selectors did not want to overload the openers pool. We might want Vijay to play due to his stupendous form in this test series in the same conditions, but the selectors love Rohit Sharma and that guy (just in time) does not allow them to lose any love over him with performances like that 264.

I too feel Rahane should open with Dhawan. If Rohit continues his ball-eating ways, then we will feel tremendous pressure down the order and that too in a tournament like the WC, it can be disastrous.

He has an agenda against MSD. It's not rocket science if you follow this board. He also has his favourites, like we all do. The only disappointment is that facts often aren't part of the agenda.

Yep, he doesnt particularly like MSD in general.

But, people here are basically arguing against something that was never said by anyone LOL

Saved the Test in England with 75 odd in difficult conditions.

As for decent option with bat and ball. Definitely over say a Umesh/ Ishant, none of whom can bat well. I'd put my money on Stuart Binny to come in and smack a few out of the stadium.

A close look at the team will show that Binny and Axar are the only genuine ARs in the team. Sir RJ has of late become a lead spinner for the team and doesn't really contribute much with the bat.

Umesh and Ishant are specialist bowlers, so I don't see the point of comparing them with Binny.

And umm, Jadeja is definitely more of an allrounder than Binny - can have the same effect as Binny with the bat, and can take wickets and control one end which Binny cant. Jadeja seems to have turned himself into a bowling allrounder, which is more valuable to our team than a batting allrounder.

Trust me, I would love to be proved wrong by Binny that he actually has the goods to perform on the big stage. I just don't see any valid reasoning behind his selection given his mediocre domestic record, especially in List A.

Good article about Bhuvaneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar's swing and miss | Cricket Features | Australia v India | ESPN Cricinfo

An article that almost re-iterates what I said before the series started (that Bhuvi is not suited for these conditions). Yes, the rest of our bowlers bowled pretty badly and made some miss Bhuvi (whose bowling felt more tolerable than the rest) but the truth is, unless he changes his bowling drastically, he will most often not suit these conditions. And he was rushed for this game as he was seen getting treatment on the sidelines during this game. Hope it does not come to hurt us in the World Cup as he is a very vital ODI bowler for us.

That's wrong.. I am a huge fan of MSD when he plays the shorter formats. According to me, MSD is arguably the 2nd best ever Indian ODI player (I would even go far enough to say he is as good as the best ever, Sachin Tendulkar). And even in T20 formats, he is an extraordinary player. He can manipulate these formats at will. He will end up a legend of the limited overs for sure. Its his test skills that dont impress me.

Warne just said Watson should play without t-shirt. I mean someone seriously needs to shows him picture of his kids before he starts his commentary stint. Some of the thing that comes out of his mouth is just absurd.

He has absolutely lost it

Was Ganguly in the box with Warne when Warne said this. Could be a reference to the Ganguly shirt off celebration.

Rahul has done well to undo the damage he did in his debut test. It would have taken something special, but we Indians are desperate to find a second opener, and so we forgive easy :P.

Well done Rahul, now go get a big one.

just got up glad that NH didnt get a ton on the road

Its actually a testament to his temperament (or lack of it), that he lets go of a golden chance. Plus there were plenty of loose strokes in that half century too

He is just not Test material. Pujara has to come back in the next series regardless of Rohit's exploits in the ODIs

That is a brilliant turnaround for Rahul. He played couple of horrible shots on his debut but this inning has been absolute concrete. Yes, he did get couple of chances but he did not lose his concentration when Australia were right on the top.
