IPL Fixing.

Told you this was coming. It is probably the best option for Dhoni to stay as far away from Srinivasan as possible.

'Livid' Dhoni offers to quit as CSK skipper, India Cements VP - The Times of India

I am not sure how true this news is, but if its true, it would be a great decision from MSD! It will send a loud and clear message that Dhoni takes serious offence to these allegations of corrupt conduct, fixing allegations, etc and wants none of this nonsense.

I just don't believe that the guy can indulge in wrong conduct. Certain people, you just can never believe they can indulge in such things. You dont know them personally, but its just that you have this unshakeable belief. People like Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Kumble, Dhoni, etc give that vibe.

It is in the best interest of Dhoni to stay away from the CSK owners for now because even if he is not guilty, his name will be dragged into this because of his close relations with the owners. Plus, even the owner of the team cannot be 100% sure of the things like decision about to be taken just before the match other than the playing XI unless he is very actively involved in team meetings (if you know what I mean) or the skipper spills it all so the chances are people might think about the second possibility and ask for Dhoni's head and despite being a Dhoni basher I think there is every reason for him to believe that his name is being dragged into all the fuss; that is his point of view.

Meanwhile it seems that BCCI has done the wise thing too.

All in all, I am quite glad that at least the Honorable Court of India is looking to take steps to clean cricket in the country or at least the image of the sport. That said, it is still hard to believe that BCCI has actually booked Sharjah as one of the venues to host IPL. The move will only add fuel to the fire of fixing fuss for obvious reasons.

EDIT: Interestingly, there is a case filed against the new IPL chief Sunil Gavaskar for misappropriation of funds.

The Supreme Court has asked if they have the legal right to restructure an autonomous organization like the BCCI, and Harish Salve (the guy who is fighting against BCCI) has said he will respond soon in writing. I think since the BCCI has been using the name "India" for their team, there should be some loophole that can be used for the right purposes to restructure BCCI by the Supreme Court, and clean up the game. BCCI calls itself a private organization, but no private organization can be allowed to call their team as the "national cricket team (or) INDIA".

I pray they can achieve their goal of restructuring the BCCI. The fact that they wanted Gavaskar to head BCCI for IPL just because he is a former cricketer tells me that, they will want to appoint former cricketers if they can get to restructure the BCCI. And that would be great for Indian cricket. Former cricketers who have administration knowledge/expertise should head BCCI.
