IPL - Transfer/Trade/Auction Thread

So this thread proves the only reason the English members were bagging the IPL was because there were no English players? :p

Chennai again spend so much money on just one player. Ok, I wanted Flintoff too but for that much price? We could have got Shakib Ul Hasan for $75,000 instead (he was unsold even with that base price) and he would have fulfilled our need of a spinning allrounder.

Freddie Flintoff is currently so overrated. Can't believe Chennai bought him for ?1 million. He was worth a million quid about 3 years ago. Now he's probably worth 700k :)

Flintoff is an awesome buy. Our bowling, especially the quick front, looked weak in comparison to everyone else. Now we are on par, plus we have a very good batsman in Flintoff too.

Chennai have targetted all the allrounders. Even if they are expensive, like Dhoni and Flintoff, they both play multiple roles in the team to justify the cost. And we made smart cheaper picks last year in Albie Morkel, Ntini, Hussey, etc. Can't say that this year, we got Thilan Thushara for 140k when we could have easily picked up Sakib for that or even cheaper.

Mortaza going for $600,000 is hillarious. His economy is almost at 10 and average above 50 in twenty/20 cricket. They don't play domestic stuff in Bangladesh. Biggest waste of $600,000 ever. Plus he's really not an all-rounder. A slogger perhaps, but no all-rounder.

And then Kyle Mills who is a much better bowler and batsman goes for only $150,000. Gutted.

No one bought Shakib, he's a spin bowling all-rounder. Really surprising.

These guys are dumb.

Those were the two dumbest teams though, by far.

Everyone else made smart picks. I think Kyle Mills is the best buy of the auction, he's such a quality bowler for just 150k.

Mashrafe isn't worth 60k, let alone 600k.

Well Mills and Ashraful were the best buys. Ashraful can be very dangerous in T20 cricket while Mills is a very handy bowler to support Zaheer Khan..

Mumbai will have a great starting XI

Sanath Jayasuriya
Sachin Tendulkar
Shikhar Dhawan
Dwayne Bravo
JP Duminy/Graham Napier/Ryan McLaren
Abhishek Nayar
Yogesh Takawale
Harbhajan Singh
Zaheer Khan
Kyle Mills/Lasith Malinga/Dilhara Fernando
Dhaval Kulkarani.

MI have the best bowling attack in the comp. An awesome batting lineup too now that I look at it, Jaya, Tendya, Dhawan, Duminy, Nayar - holy shite.

Bangalore should release useless ones such as Waim Jaffer, Cameron White etc..

Mortaza started at $50,000 and ended up at $600,000. God has just opened the skies and showered him with such a huge gift. Wonder what he did in his previous birth?

@ Rohit: Flintoff will only be with us for 3 weeks. Apart from Flintoff and Hussey, all others will be with us throughout. Anyways, CSK seem to be star driven when it comes to auctions and go to any length to get the star they want. We are a very strong side and hope this time, we win the trophy.
