Is Cricket itself overrated?

Well, Baseball's quite fun, a bit to start-stop but nice to watch. As for T20, it's quite similar to baseball in that every delivery, the batsman is trying to whack it out of the country.

Cricket is way over rated in the sub continent. But in all the other test playing countries its basically just a fill in summer sport between the football seasons

I agree with this statement. If I was in America, Horse Racing would be the only sport, I'd be interested in, and that's not an American sport either.

Let me explain-Baseball is divided in to nine innings a side. Per innings, once 3 batsman (is that what they're called?) have been out, the innings is over and there is about a 5 minute break. Bearing in mind, the innings could be over in 3 balls and usually is very quickly, cricket has 6 ball overs consisting of roughly 5 minutes each. They're is a very short break inbetween overs and every now and then a drinks break.

What??!!, bit mysterious and what's in the muffin-type, but that's the truth, (s)Crap men have started international cricket, with what had to be a good spread-over for the sport in the world due to their (nation) powers, and conquering in the new world and the old world, but turned the other way when the wars came..

Usy son, you are over-rating everything which is making a flame-war like minds in people, but that actual fame of cricket is much better than the much it is over-rated..

Only Good Sport that come from USA is Basketball. I love the game. NFL, etc all sucks.
I don't really like Fifa, but it's the No 1 sports on the planet.
Cricket would be next inline.
Because right now cricket is been played in many country which we don't know about, because the Country just play it for fun Nearthland,Scotland, Ireland, Canada are amoust the best unknown Countries to the game. than we have Countries like ICC Associates

With the improvment of the fast version of Cricket 20/20
These Countries/Island they little public they have, many one day turn to a big public.

It's just we have to wait and watch how far this short version can take the Cricket world.

It's one thing to say that a particular sport sucks, it's another to say all of them in a particular area do. American Football (both college and the NFL) are awesome. I will say that cricket is more fun to watch than baseball, but if you understand the game, American Football is as good as cricket. Ice Hockey(NHL), Basketball(NBA), and various other sports in America are a lot of fun as well.

As far as 20-20's go, it will attract America, no doubt. It'll take time, though.

I read in the paper a couple weeks back that Cricket is Australia's highest participation sport - it's beaten soccer which I think is pretty impressive.

Yeah, and the main reason being the fact that they've been leading the game for last 10 years or so.
