Jack Teague's Managerial Career - Worksop vs Thurrock [FM 06]

isnt it illegal to fire someone due to injury.. or against some rule?

Nope don't think so Griffo. If I terminated the contract without his agreement I would have to pay him a load of money!

Well I do need money and he is worth one of the most. Seeing as he is out for rather a long time I think money is more important than him. And looking at his stats I have much better players...

Excellent work in this story mate, hope it helps you with your writing (as you wanted it to) and hoepfully you can get Worksop up into the Conference, and then maybe the league!
You never know,
Good luck Mr Jack.

30th July (Match Day)
I woke up and immediatley rolled off the bed. I smashed me' head on the cupboard. Went downstairs and got an ice pack. Got a fat ass lump on the top of my head. But I got some cereal and headed off for the game against Thurrock. Got to the ground and the lads were already there, to my surprise. We went out onto the pitch and had a long warm-up. I sat the lads down in the center circle and gave them a long talk about the game. I told the lads to carry on from where they left off against Watford, and win this game. I said that Azizzhon would be taking the pre-match speech and I would sit back and let you guys do the work. I also said that Peter would be shouting the instructions from the sideline's, and I was to watch them in order for me to see how everyone plays. That was that really. They carried on training and then when the other team arrived the guys got kitted up and they were ready for the game. I told em it was to be the same said as the last game and that all the guys who didn't get a chance to play against Watford, would today...

Now to sit back and watch the lads win...

Trev you should be punctual , and wake up early to avoid this lumps and all :p ,anyway take care of it . Hope you will gete a good win against ur opponents . Great story bro :clap

Updates to be done soon. But would love it if I could get more opinions on my story and these updates.

cheers :cheers

Sorry mate, haven't replied for a bit here. haha i wanna see the bump on your head lol :p. Looking forward to see the players in action that didn't play against Watford, will show the strength in depth that your side may have or may not have :p

The Game - vs Thurrock

The first few minutes we really had the pressure on Thurrock. I few good chances and 2 coming in one move with two headers that really should have been put away. Thanhks to some poor shooting and good saves Thurrock were able to stay clear of losing a goal. Both sides had even chances and equally both had poor shots wasting good chances. The scoreline was a stalemate 0-0 at half time and neither team could say they played well.

Half-Time Team Talk said:
"Come on lads lets concentrate. Our finishing is lacking and we just need to test this keeper out. I want to see us have more of the ball in and around their penalty area. Their defence from what I have seen isn't the best and I think we have the attacking power to beat them each and every attack. Lets just get our focus on getting shots on target and taking our time on the ball. I wanna see more of the performance from when we played Watford. Now lets go lads..."

I don't think they listened to what I had said at half time! I had made 2 changes bringing on Oshitola and Chamberlain for Rose and Simpkins. They immediately got on top of us and thanks to an unbelievable miss from their striker from about 4 yards out, we were still in the game. A counter attack thanks to a bad back pass from their winger gave us an opportunity to get ahead. Only a quality save from their keeper kept it out of the net and the game was definitely leaning towards a no score draw. Not many chances came in the later quater of the game and as I feared, the game ended up scoreless. We should have beaten them and after our high of the Watford game we had taken a big step backwards.

Full-Time Team Talk said:
"Not much to say lads! My words I spoke at half time and the feelings I felt them still rang true throughout the second half. A lot of work will be done ahead of the Blackburn Reserve game and we will improve for the match. Not the result we wanted but lets still go out for a drinks hey lads?"

Final Score: Worksop 0-0 Thurrock
Goals: None
Injuries: Adam Sollitt (damaged heel) Worksop - 90th min
Attendance: 58
Referee: K.Wright

Match Rating: Very Poor. Neither said wanted the win and it definitely did seem like a friendly game between two very poor sides. The 58 fans that came wasted their £5 that it cost em to get in and i doubt that we will see many of those 58 watch us again this season...

BOO!!! BOO!!!

Dreadful game Jack, I don't know what you were thinking:p But seriously quite a big knock as already an injury in the 90th minute. Good luck ahead after this game Jack.

Really a poor game  i was lucky that i didnt came to see this match and saved mine 5 :) now you also have an injured player in the bench :( not a great comeback i must say, great story and presentaion Trev

Week Leading to Blackburn Rs. Game

No news on the offer for Sam Collier the keeper that I really could do with signing. Another keeper that would bring energy to the team and with him being young it would also give us a lot of talent to work with. I looked at the most recent game with Thurrock and decided to have a look around for a player on loan that would play upfront and score me goals. I looked on list and found 20 year old Chris Brown from the Sunderland Reserve side. A real quality player and we could do with him on loan for a few months. I put in an offer for a loan of 4 months. I took a look to see of any offers for him and there were a few brilliant offers from much higher quality clubs. Chesterfield, Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Burnley and Huddersfield were the other contenders for the young striker. Just had to hope he wanted to give us a hand with our troubles...

You want him? :laugh

Good luck in signing him lathough I think you may not have much luck but you could really do with a goalscorer and Brown is great. Although didn't he leave Sunderland to goto Norwich due to making a sexual tape with team-mates with a 16 year old?
