Day 1 - 1st Session

The weather is a bit warmer but its still overcast at Canterbury as the toss gets underway. Dispite the overhead conditions Key decides to bat first.

Warkickshire make the early breakthrough as Key edges a ball to Frost on 6.

Martin van Jaarsveld replaces Key in this reshuffled top order and He doesn't fair much better than captain Key.

Denly is next to fall with the score on 91 when Carter clean bowls him.

Soon after Hall is out as he gifts another wicket to Carter.

Kemp and Stevens survive until lunch as Kent fail to make the best of a good pitch. The score is 119/4.

Day 1 - 2nd Session

Kemp and Stevens continue to build their partnership after lunch, both passing 50. Its not until the score reaches 242 that Warwickshire take the wicket of Stevens. Its been a real gutsy performance from Stevens.

The departure of Stevens brings Geraint Jones to the crease to partner Kemp.

Warwickshire opt to give spin a try just before tea and Jones shows his England teammate no sympathy as he smashes Giles for six.

Tea arrives with the score on 271/5. Its doubtful Kemp will be able to eat much as he walks off on 99 not out.

It doesnt take Kemp long to get his century as he sweeps for a single first ball back after the break.

Jones' aggressive tatics against Giles fail to pay off and he is caught on the boundary for 19.

Simon Cook is next to fall as he edges a ball from Streak into the slips.

Patel is quickly out as Frost takes another catch.

Joseph then runs himself out without scoring

Kemp, knowing Saggers rabbit like quality tries to up the pace and pass the 300 mark but he edges to frost with the score on 299 and Kent are all out just 1 point away from an extra bonus point.

Warwickshire walk out to bat and Frost faces just 1 over from Saggers before rain brings a halt to the days play. Warwickshire are 0/0.

Day 2 - 1st Session

The day doesnt start well for Warwickshire as Wagh is runout with only 10 on the board, he was coming back for a second run and was miles outside the crease when Saggers broke the stumps.

Bell joins Frost at the crease and the pair bat well and look like they will build a meaningful partnership, until Hall is thrown the ball by Key.

Trott walks to the crease but his innings lasts just 5 balls.

Warwickshire recover from their mini wobble to make it to 81/3 at lunch.
