Hampshire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - The Rose Bowl
Day 4 -1st Session

The final day gets underway with Hampshire needing to bat out the day or score a decent amount of runs to avoid defeat. They manage to add just 23 runs before the fall of the first wicket of the day.

w4pb3.jpg

Soon after its probably all over for Hampshire as Thornely is bowled out for 46, He'd been looking in good form and this is a massive wicket for Kent. Once again its Ferley who strikes. Key's plan of tempting him into a straight drive by removing the fielder worked to perfection.

w5jq9.jpg

Ferley might be getting the wickets but its Stevens who has looked the best of the Kent bowlers, how he has remained wicketless so far is a mystery. Although Kent are one step closer to solving the mystery when Burrows survives an edge. O'Brien makes a good effort but cant get to the ball. The two slip fielders however, looked like cardboard cutouts and didn't move an inch.

Burrows lives to survive the early setback and at lunch Hampshire are 123/5.

Shane will bring his blocking boots :D Hamps wont lose this, unlucky for Stevens, the slip should have had that! Great presentation Kev

Hampshire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - The Rose Bowl
Day 4 - 2nd Session

Stevens continues to trouble the batsman after the break, particularly Burrows but lady luck is just not shining on him. Key decides to rest Stevens but stick with medium pace at one end so he throws the ball to Matt Walker. Immediatley there is a breakthrough and Burrows is out with Walker's first ball.

Shane Warne walks to the crease and has an immediate impact, running out Stokes for 40 in Walker's second over.

w7hr3.jpg

The introduction of Walker proves to have been a master stroke as Tremlett edges one to Fulton in the slips.

w8fu2.jpg

Stevens comes back for his second spell and finally his hard work pays off as he clean bowls Bruce. Hampshire are now 170/9.

w9uj5.jpg

Hampshire will go into the final session of the match with 1 wicket remaining and a lead of 10 runs.

Hampshire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - The Rose Bowl
Day 4 - 3rd Session

Warne and Taylor refuse to go down without a fight and the pair add 36 runs before Joseph takes the final wicket for Kent.

w10hvv3.jpg

Hampshire are all out for 209. Kent require 47 runs and have just over an hour to make them.

statshnm8.jpg

Walker and Fulton walk out to bat and will be looking to make the required total without losing a wicket to make up for their poor performances of late.

They get halfway before Fulton is bowled, he was trying to push the score along but goes for a shot that was never on.

w1kjx5.jpg

Tremlett strikes again and both openers are out.

w2kdg1.jpg

It's three for Tremlett as van Jaarsveld edges to Burrows.

w3kqx1.jpg

Kent are making a bit of a mess of such a low target and its up to Hall and Key to see them across the finish line. Hall grabbing the winning run with a sweep shot, Kent win with just 5 mins to spare.

Nice tense win Kev, not up to scratch with your batting in this game, but boy oh boy did your bowling make up for it:);)

w6li7.jpg

w8bh4.jpg

Stevens is next back in the pavillion when he is runout.

w9ee9.jpg

Patel comes out with one ball to go in the innings and he too is runout. Its been a busy final over with Kent losing their last 4 wickets without adding to their score as they are all out for 235.

statskw1.jpg

Decent start, good score, rocky end which lead to a disappointing allout score.

With a good educated bowling session, Kent should be able to bowl Ireland out within 40 overs, and shouldnt let them get anywere near
