It gets better for Kent, as shortly afterwards Gallian is bowled by Patel.

Kemp does it again! He takes the wicket of Smith in the first over of the day.

Hussey and Ealham then put together a reasonable partnership, before Stevens gets his first wicket of the match, its a virtual carbon copy of Kemp's.

The loss of Hussey brings wicketkeeper Read to the crease. He teams up with Ealham to take Notts to 191/5 at lunch.

Day 3 - 2nd Session

Patel gets his second wicket, and removes his second dangerman, when Ealham loses patience and goes for a big hit. Unfortunatley for him, he completely misses the ball.

218/5 becomes 218/7 when Stevens gets his first wicket and Jones his first catch.

w70ky.jpg

Nottinghamshire will have to pull something amazing out of the bag to avoid the follow on when, at around 3:30, Read falls. Giving Joseph is first wicket.

w86pg.jpg

Jones claims his second catch in the last over before tea to finally dismiss Patel for a duck.

Day 4 - 1st Session

Nottinghamshire must have eaten Ready Brek for breakfast, because they certainly have more get up and go about them. Robbie Joseph is removed from the attack after being hit for 2 sixes in one over.

Kemp puts a stop to the onslaught dismissing Gallian for 31.

w29hg.jpg

Hussey follows Gallian back to the pavilion in the same over.

w33op.jpg

There's no stopping Flemming though and he races to his half century.

Smith chips in with a quick fire 29 before Hall gets his first wicket.

w42nt.jpg

The Kent fans are ecstatic when Ealham bags a first baller giving Hall two wickets in two balls.

w57mn.jpg

Hall gets his third wicket when Key takes a catch to remove Read.

w63mk.jpg

Hall's next scalp is Flemming. Its a key wicket for Kent and Flemming will be gutted not to have converted a big score into a century.

w77ch.jpg

Patel follows soon after, giving Kemp his third wicket.

w86yn.jpg

Hall gets his 5th wicket when he dismisses Smith (the other one). On a day when the spinners were expected to triumph, its been an amazing haul for the South African duo of Kemp and Hall.

w93px.jpg

With just four minutes to go before lunch Kemp wraps up the Nottinghamshire innings when Harris is caught by Stevens for a duck.

Nottinghamshire fall short of making Kent bat again by just 9 runs.

Middlesex v Kent - C&G Trophy - Lords
1st Innings

Its another overcast day (roll on the summer) and Kent have no hesitation in putting Middlesex into bat on this unusually green Lords wicket.

29th Over

Middlesex make a solid start but are failing to score runs, kent wont be too unhappy that they havent managed to dismiss Strauss as the England opener is scoring especially slowly. Ex-Kent batsman is making the majority of the runs and in the 29th Over he reaches his half century.

smith503um.jpg

Strauss is out later in the over when Patel bowls him for 19, coming from around the wicket.

w16gb.jpg

30th Over

Strauss is replace by Ed Joyce but he doesn't spend that long at the wicket and is removed by Stevens for just 1 run.

w21xz.jpg

32nd Over

Stevens strikes again. This time he traps Styris leg before for 1 run.

w37hr.jpg

40th Over

Stevens makes it three when he gets the prize wicket of Smith, its another LBW.

w41at.jpg

44th Over

Godleman skies one to give Stevens his 4th Wicket as Middlesex are reduced to 112 for 5.

w50yy.jpg

46th Over

Cook is back for his second spell, having replaced Stevens. He continues where Stevensleft off and removes Dalrymple for 13.

w64cg.jpg

48th Over

Another wicket for Cook, this time its Hutton as Middlesex continue to lose wickets at regular intervals.

w71ek.jpg

50th Over

Middlesex end on 159/7 and will be hoping the green pitch will help them to remove this weakened Kent side.

Middlesex v Kent - C&G Trophy - Lords
2nd Innings

2nd Over

Once again Kent are chasing a low total but they dont get off to the best of starts when Fulton bags a first-baller.

w17xp.jpg

4th Over

Things go from Bad to Worse, when Walker runs out Key.

w25fk.jpg

9th Over

Denly also fails to make an impression and although Kent are ok on run rate but they'll be running out of batsmen if this keeps up.

w30xo.jpg

23rd Over

Walker and Hall set about recovering for the poor start and almost manage to get the total up to triple figures before Walker goes for a big hit but plays it a little early. He never looked completely settled at the crease and He'll be hoping Key has calmed down a bit as he trudges back to the pavilion.

w40kr.jpg

27th Over

Hall gets his half century, in his last match for Kent this season.

hall501al.jpg

35th Over

Hall is eventually runout. But he's done enough to virtually secure victory and Kent will miss him greatly for the rest of the season.

w56rh.jpg

Stevens copies Fulton and gets out playing the very same shot on his first ball.

w65ug.jpg

40th Over

The scores are tied at the start of the over and Dexter hits Dalrymple straight down the ground to bring up the winning run.

stats1ux.jpg

Kent's unbeaten run in the C&G sets them up for a final facing Northern Conference winners the Scottish Saltires.
