Essex v Kent - Twenty20 Cup - Chelmsford
1st Innings

Kent enter fortress Chelmsford on an overcast but warm day and upon winning the toss decide to set a total rather than chase one.

1st Over

There's drama with the 3rd ball of the match. Key edges to the lone slip fielder, Middlebrook. But he cant hold onto the ball.

Key goes on to punish Essex and races to fifty.

Middlebrook hangs on to his next chance and Fulton goes for 24.

Gough is dancing for joy in the 13th over, when he clean bowls Key for 61. Rob Key can't believe it! The ball went past the stumps so fast it sucked them out of the ground!

Kent's twenty20 diamond Jones reaches his fifty in the 14th over.

Young Neil Dexter continues his hot and cold form and edges to Foster to give Gough another reason to dance around.

Once again Jones makes a big score but fails to be around at the death.

1st Over

Amjad Khan strikes first ball of the innings to remove Jefferson.

Andy Flower then hits Khan for four sixes and Key immediatley removes him from the attack.

5th Over

The Kent bowling attack is taking a bit of a beating allround but Joseph refuses to be beaten. First he picks up the wicket of Chopra.

Patel chips in with the wicket of Andy Flower as Kent claw their way back into the match.

Kent v Surrey - Twenty20 Cup - Canterbury
1st Innings

Its an overcast day and the pitch has a lot of grass on it so when Kent again win the toss they decide to make Surrey bat.

2nd Over

Surrey get off to a slow start and lose Newman in the second with just 6 runs on the board.

After a small partnership Clinton is the next casualty.

The other half of the partnership falls in the next over when Butch is out for 24.

Wickets continue to fall at a steady pace when Ramprakash goes for a duck to give Bravo wicket number 2.

The score is almost doubled by the time Kent take their next wicket, just 2 overs later. Brown becomes Tredwell's first wicket.

Surrey fail to add to their score before Dexter gets Kent's next wicket. Joseph takes the catch to remove Clarke for 7 runs.

Mahmood is next to go, for 18 runs, again Joseph takes the catch but this time the wicket is Tredwell's.

Henderson returns to the attack and gets the wicket of Batty.

Ormond walks into bat and Hits Henderson for 4 sixes in 4 balls.

17th Over

Tredwell gets his third wicket when Fulton takes a catch to dismiss Kumble for a duck.

Joseph replaces Henderson and deals with Ormond. Ormond managed to blast to 30 runs before Tredwell took the catch to take Essex to an all out total of 155.

2nd Innings

1st Over

Ormond strikes with the third ball of the innings to dismiss Kent captain Key for a duck.

Fulton and Jones put together a decent partnership before Fulton falls for 24.

Once again Jones reaches fifty. He has been the lynchpin of Kent's batting for this entire tournament and is in great form.

Jones doesnt get much further and is out for 56. With both the form batsmen out now, Kent will require a decent performance from the middle order.

Unfortunatley for Kent it looks like the middle order is as fragile as ever.
Walker is bowled for 1.

Dexter repeats Walker's feat.

Then Denly goes cheaply.

Swiftly followed by Bravo who has shown no form at all with the bat for Kent so far.

Stevens and Henderson steady the sinking ship but both fall in the 18th over as Kent's lower order struggles to make the big shots needed to keep up with the required run rate.

Kent need 19 runs in the final over. Tredwell is at the crease and Joseph is at the other end. Tredwell hits the first ball for six. But he is caught trying to repeat the shot next ball and Kent are all out for 143.

Basically on 5* I can only hit big shots with 1 or 2 players. As much as I try with others I just cant get the timing right as the window is so small. So basically if Key or Jones get out early I'm buggered ;)

Yes I did, the Tie I managed turned out to be really important.

Sussex v Kent - Twenty20 Cup QF Match - Hove
1st Innings

Kent return to Hove for their quarter final match in the twenty20 cup. It's a typical English summer day, the sun is out but its not too warm. Kent win the toss and decide to bat first on a dusty pitch. Kent open with their two big hitters Key and Jones.

7th Over

Last time Kent batted here they struggled to make 100 runs in their 20 overs. Thats not the case today. Key reaches his half century in the 7th over.

8th Over

Jones reaches his fifty in the next over.

Key reaches his hundred in the 12th over as the score races to 192/1.

Sussex manage to slow the scoring down and Mushtaq Ahmed is bowling very well, but its Martin-Jenkins who gets the next wicket. Fulton is out for 28.

Key eventually falls just three runs shy of his 150. All 3 Kent wickets have been carbon copies of each other.

Bravo is facing for the final over, he reverse sweeps twice for four and Kent close out their innings on 261/3.

Leicestershire should beat middlesex in the 2020's. Kent i'm not too fussed on ;)
