Story Kent - A Cricket07 Story - Season Finished

Good bowling performance by Kent. They defiently wouldn't want the tail to wag.

Lancashire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Old Trafford
Day 1 - 3rd Session

The final session of the day's play starts badly for Lancashire as they lose their 7th wicket without adding to the score.

Cork decides enough is enough and goes on the rampage, hitting 4 sixes. Unfortunatley for Lancashire Cork's talent falls short of his ambition and he is bowled by Khan for 42. Cork will be gutted, he had a fifty in his sights and didnt even offer a shot to the delivery.

Anderson is next to fall, as he too is bowled, this time by Hall as Anderson tries (and fails miserably) to hit Hall back over his head.

The innings lasts just one more ball. Key decides to bring back Stevens and he bowls Mahmood with his first ball of the spell. Lancashire are all out for 170.

Kent now face that awkward task of having to face a handful of overs before the end of the days play. It doesn't go exactly to plan, as in the second over Fulton lashes at a short ball and is brilliantly caught for 5.

Captain Rob Key walks out to bat but only has to face 1 ball, as rain arrives like clockwork to bring a close to the days play with Kent 6/1.

Oh Lanky Lanky....Lanky Lanky...

Ah never mind, whatever I sing will not work when we get bowled out for 170. But thats just from the view of a Lancashire fan.

Keep up the great presentation.

Seem to be getting a few run outs on this story Kev.
Dont blame me, blame EA sports for their completely useless AI programming. Not just too many runouts but too many bowled too. They seem to make the players ultra defensive then its as if there is a switch on their back which changes to ultra offensive.

Well lets hope PC's very own AI's are better :p

Great stuff Kev you seem to be beating everyone convincingly so far :)

Lancashire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Old Trafford
Day 2 - 1st Session

The second days play starts ontime with Key and Walker at the crease. Key is making good progress and has settled in well but Walker does not look confident at all and its no surprise when he is finally dismissed.

2ndwicketla8.jpg

Martin van Jaarsveld is Walker's replacement and He'll be hoping for an improvement over his last performance in the County Championship. Soon Key and van Jaarsveld are pushing the score along at quite a pace and Rob Key is first to celebrate his 50.

Not long afterwards and van Jaarsveld is celebrating his.

Lancashire just dont seem awake, their field placings are allowing Kent to dominate totally. Kent put on 157 runs in the session and are 163/2 at lunch.

Saj Mahmood going for a realistic amount of runs. Kent really piling it on, here. Lancashire will need a miracle to come back.

Lancashire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Old Trafford
Day 2 - 2nd Session

As is often the case, Lunch came at the wrong time for Kent and in the second over after the break Lancashire make the breakthrough they desperatey needed as Cork bowls van Jaarsveld.

3rdwicketci7.jpg

Andrew Hall is next out to bat and also next back in the pavillion as he is runout for 12.

4thwicketgz5.jpg

Key is joined at the crease by Darren Stevens and Key's nervous nineties become the painful nineties as he is struck on the head twice. He is still seeing stars when he edges a ball to wicketkeeper Sutton on 94.

5thwickettr0.jpg

Geraint Jones comes out to join Stevens. Jones is looking much more confident than Stevens and scoring well until he is dismissed in bizzare circumstances. He leaves a short ball but it hits his hands and Mahmood takes a quite frankly impossible catch. Definatley one for the "What Happens Next" round on BBC's Question of Sport.

6thwicketot2.jpg

Kent fans will be talking about how unlucky that wicket was in pub tonight thats for sure and were even more gobsmacked when Stevens falls in the exact same way.

7thwicketqz2.jpg

Wickets continue to tumble as Patel is dismissed for a duck, out LBW to Cork.

8thwicketry5.jpg

What a session for Lancashire, their celebrations continue as Joseph falls for just 4.

9thwicketbk5.jpg

Khan joins Kemp at the crease now and Kemp is on a mission to get Kent past the 300 mark and soon makes it to 50.

kemp50et2.jpg

Kemp falls soon after though and Kent are all out for 308. They seem to have mistaken this match for a one day game and anyone making plans to watch the game on day 4 might do well to change them.

Lancashire have to face just 3 overs before tea and go into the break at 3/0.

:D

I wasn't having a go, I've never came close to getting a run out when bowling.

You're certainly getting more modes of dismissal than me. Either get them out by bowling bouncers or by throwing the spinner on (Tests). Edges are like truffles on this, although it was a dry pitch.

Good even workload by Lancs...

I know ;)

I was quite looking forward to facing freddie, it seems the AI had other ideas though.
