Lancashire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Old Trafford
Day 2 - 3rd Session

Nothing was going to live up to the excitement of the last session. Which was a coincidence as nothing happened.

Nothing until the 3rd last ball of the day, when Patel dismissed Sutcliffe for 19. At the end of the day Lancashire are 34/1.

Lancashire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Old Trafford
Day 3 - 1st Session

Lancashire continue to set the world alight with their batting, unfortunatley thats happening in a parallel universe somewhere. In this universe Chilton is finally runout for 7 after 127 balls.

Lancashire score their first boundary of the innings at 12:34 and go in at lunch with the score at 72/2.

Lancashire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Old Trafford
Day 3 - 2nd Session

Just after lunch and Lancashire suffer yet another runout.

3rdwicketth7.jpg

Freddie is not far behind as Jones stumps him from Patel's bowling. Flintoff had been tempted down the wicket on a number of occasions but missed the ball completely this time.

Loye's stay at the crease is extrememly short as Patel bags another wicket and Lancashire lose 3 is quick sucession.

5thwicketkz8.jpg

Lancashire recover and make it to tea without the loss of another wicket. They've been batting for 3 sessions now and have only just broken the 100 barrier.

Let's hope for a good AI patch soon then :D

By the looks of things, you need one.

Lancashire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Old Trafford
Day 3 - 3rd Session

Lancashire have been at the Red Bull at tea and have finally started batting at a good rate. Hodge and Sutton put on nearly 50 runs in the session before Joseph bowls Hodge for 35. Lancs are 142/6.

6thwicketdj9.jpg

Cork comes out to bat but the crowd are not treated to a repeat of the firework display he provided in the 1st innings. He is runout for 1 off a no-ball from Patel.

7thwicketyn7.jpg

Mahmood is next in/next out as Fulton adds to his close fielding catch tally for the season.

8thwicketkx3.jpg

The faster run rate being employed is certainly taking its toll on the wickets as Anderson is quickly back in the pavillion, he gets an inside edge and the ball hits the stumps, giving Kemp his first wicket.

9thwicketcp7.jpg

Lancashire look completely down and out now, their only hope lies with Sutton and he soon reaches his half century.

sutton50jy5.jpg

Unfortunatley Keedy cant back him up and Hall bowls him for 1.

10thwicketbp8.jpg

Lancashire are all out for 198. Leaving Kent a tiny target of 61 runs.

statskb6.jpg

There is time for just 2 overs before the close of play and Lancashire fans will be ashamed that out of the 14 runs scored by Kent in those 2 overs, 11 are extras.

11 out of 14 were extras. Extras was the 3rd highest scorer

Kent should win this easily. 168 runs - Rings a bell doesn't it ;)

nice presentation mate keep on ...nice story sofar

Lancashire v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Old Trafford
Day 4 - 1st Session

Dispite the fact that only around 50 runs are required today, the ground is full to capacity, infact county cricket really seems to be enjoying a golden age at present.

Fulton and Walker continue at the crease but Fulton falls on 11 runs, he is caught and bowled by Cork, the slower ball completely catching Fulton out.

1stwicketjs0.jpg

Rob Key only lasts a few balls before he too mistimes a slower ball, suddenly Kent seem to be making hard work of it.

2ndwicketdk7.jpg

A glimmer of hope grows in Lancashire's hearts as 2 wickets fall with the score on 49. Walker and van Jaarsveld both edge to the wicket keeper. van Jaarsveld's dismissal coming from Anderson's first ball.

Its up to Hall and Stevens to hit the required 12 runs. Hall wins the match for Kent with a boundary.
