The 2 sides field the same teams as they did for the Semi-Finals. Essex captain Irani wins the toss and elects to bat first on a wet pitch.

Essex dont get off to the best of starts and loose Pettini with just 4 runs on the scoreboard. They recover well but loose 2 quick wickets in the fourth over. Irani goes followed by Cook. At the 5 over mark 56/3.

Surrey decide to bring on their 2 spinners, Kumble and Doshi. Immediatley Kumble strikes and Gough falls to a great catch. ten Doeschate falls the very next ball. At the other end Doshi isn't doing as well and Bopara is destroying him with some big hits. After 10 overs Essedx are 101/5.

Ramprakash drops Foster off his very first ball to deny Kumble his hat-trick. But foster doesnt last long and he skies a shot for an easy catch and its 108/6. Middlebrook only lasts a couple of balls and its soon 7 wickets down without any score being added. Bichel comes to the crease and enjoys a brief stand with Bopara before going with the score on 125/8. Kumble gets his 4th wicket and Napier is gone with the score on 138/9.

The final wicket pairing sees the score move along to 159 before Bopara is caught by Ramprakash off the bowling of Doshi in the 16th Over.

Surrey will be very confident of making the required 160 runs.
