Story Kent in the Twenty20 (C2004)

Lovely strokeplay from Sachin Tendulkar. He could be the deciding factor in this game.

I think the Cricket 2004 graphics are by far better than Cricket 2005. They suit the sport more.

Great story Kev. Nice WXI pads lol, but the graphics in c2004 really do suck.
Get back to your precious C2005 then :p

(Where all the players look exactly the same - Mahoosive and like they dont know what an Iron is)

World XI 16th Over

Flemming hits Tredwell for four from the first ball of the over.

16flemm4wb9.jpg

A quick single is taken, Tendulkar is on strike and he promptly smashes a big six.

16tendsix1ff6.jpg

Tredwell looks completely destroyed and he bowls the next ball wide.

16widext9.jpg

Tendultak finishes him off with 2 further sixes to take the total to 199/6.

16tend3pr6.jpg

World XI 17th Over

Dexter grabs his second wicket and Flemming is out.

17flemmingoutsf8.jpg

Warne comes to the crease and manages a four before the over ends on 207/7.

17warne4mt4.jpg

World XI 18th Over

Key brings back Saggers and Warne is caught first ball of the over. But No! The fielder has stepped over the rope!

19warneoverropekb7.jpg

Warne makes them pay with another four.

18warnefourae2.jpg

His luck doesn't hold though and Warne is back in the dressing room. Its now 218/8 with 2 overs remaining.

18warneoutdx2.jpg

World XI 19th Over

Bravo is bowling the penultimate over and Tendulkar takes a quick single to bring up his century. The crowd are giving him a standing ovation.

19tendtunsf2.jpg

Brett Lee is now facing Bravo and shows he is no rabbit with 3 straight sixes!

19leesix1ai9.jpg

19leesix2kj0.jpg

19leesix3gf3.jpg

The score is now 237/8 with only 1 over remaining.

World XI Final Over

Saggers is bowling the final over and Lee continues to amaze the crowd with 2 more sixes!

20leesix1hb0.jpg

20leesix2oh8.jpg

Lee looks set to repeat his fantastic feat from the last over but he mis-times his third shot and is out!

20leeoutue2.jpg

Kent will be furious with themselves for letting a tailender score so freely. McGrath walks out as the last man and hits 2 fours to bring the final score to 258/9.

20mcgrathfour1mj1.jpg

20mcgrathfour2qg9.jpg

Tendulkar has surely ensured victory for the World XI and it will take something very special from a Kent batsman to take the man of the match award away from him.

Kent 1st Over

McGrath opens the bowling for the World XI and Kent need a massive 12.95 runs per over to pull of an unlikely victory here. It starts well though as Dexter smashes the second ball of the innings for six.

1dextersixgj9.jpg

He hits the very next ball back over McGraths head and it goes for four.

1dexterfourta1.jpg

A bright start for Kent, and they end the over on 11 without loss

Kent 2nd Over

Pollock is bowling and its a great over. Darren Stevens gives his wicket away and only 3 runs are added.

2stevensoutml0.jpg

Kent 3rd Over

Martin van Jaarsveld is at the crease now and 2 fours keeps the score respectable bnut Kent now require nearly 14 runs per over.

Kent 4th Over

Pollock's second over is not as sucessful as his first. Dexter hits the first ball for four.

4dexterfour1ip5.jpg

Pollock's next ball is down the leg side and a wide is called. Dexter punishes him with a four from the next ball.

4dexterfour2fh6.jpg

Then Dexter smashes another six.

4dextersixze0.jpg

van Jaarsveld chips in at the end of the over with a four of his own.

4mvjfourak8.jpg

Kent will be pleased with the over, 20 runs scored and its now 44/1.

Kent 5th Over

Dexter is making world class bowlers look ordinary here. The young lad is certainly no respector of reputations. He hits McGrath for four.

5dexterfour1xf6.jpg

And again.

5dexterfour2af9.jpg

And with a delicate flick off his hips he makes it 3 fours on the trott.

5dexterfour3vo0.jpg

Its 58/1 at the end of the over, Kent now require 13.4 runs per over. If they can carry on like this there is a chance for them.

Kent 6th Over

Just the one boundary this over though as van Jaarsveld smashes a six to bring up the 50 partnership. 10 runs are added in total this over.

6mvjsixap4.jpg

Kent 7th Over

Disaster for Kent! Dexter is out, that was a terrible shot, he got over confident and gave his wicket away far too easily. However his 44 from just 25 balls may prove invaluable.

7dexterouthd8.jpg

Kent send out Mathew Walker and he finishes the over with a four.

7walkerfouriz6.jpg

The over rate has risen above 14 again and Kent are now 73/2.

Kent 8th Over

Its Pollock's final over and it starts well for Kent as Walker hits his second four of the innings.

8walkerfourux1.jpg

But his visit at the crease is all too short for Kent.

8walkeroutpz0.jpg

Rob Key comes to the crease and the first ball he faces is given as a wide. He manages to scramble 2 runs from the next ball. But he too is back in the pavillion before the over ends.

8keyoutnk0.jpg

Its 82/4 now and its looking more and more desperate for Kent.

Kent 9th Over

Shane Warne is replacing McGrath and straight from the off he shows his class as he bags the wicket of van Jaarsveld.

9mvjouthi9.jpg

The World XI will be delighted with that wicket and now Kent have 2 new batsmen at the crease in Henderson and Jones.

Its a massive mixup! Jones calls for the run but Henderson sends him back and GOJo is runout without even facing a ball!

9gojorunouthe7.jpg

Kent slump to 84/6 at the end of the over. Surely they cant recover from this.

Kent 10th Over

Brett Lee replaces Pollock and Dwayne Bravo is looking to step up to the challenge, he restores some respectability to the innings with a good four.

10bravofour1qx4.jpg

He snatches another four from the next ball

10bravofour2jv4.jpg

And finishes the over in style with a six.

10bravosixqu7.jpg

The halfway stage is reaches with Kent on 99/6. They will need 16 runs per over and with only 4 wickets in hand it looks beyond them.

Stay with your precious C2004 then :p.

(Where the bats have no edges and round backs.

Unfortunatley the dredded "Will not continue after saving" bug has struck again for the third time this story.

I was forced to autoplay the final 10 overs (well it didnt last that long, if fact it lasted 1 over!) Kent slumped to 111 all out.

Sorry to hear that.

I've lost several games in that manner. That is the main reason why I haven't even touched this game since BLIC came out.

This can be overcome by using Savtweak to change yourself to the other team, then changing the bowler, saving, quitting, and changing back. Hasn't troubled me much whenever I play.

thats a shame kev, that was a very interesting match.this is a great cricket 2004 story:)

After a short break the Twenty20 cup continues with the first semi-final. Kent v Essex. The Essex Squad lines up as it did in reality, as Kent did not reach this stage their lineup is not based on any real match.

Essex win the toss and decide to bat first.

The Match will commence when imageshack stops mucking around ;)

Top stuff again Kev. You do realise that we are all expecting a 'Kent in the Twenty20 (C2007)' story from you don't you? :p
