The flat wicket at the Adelaide Oval didn't give much to bowlers as the batsmen reaped all the rewards and the thus match ended in a draw.

Garry Sobers who completed his job brilliantly with the bat by scoring a century and also bowled many overs of left arm spin taking five wickets in the match. His effort was rewarded as he won his second consecutive man of the match award in as many games.​

Grant Flower and Zimbabwean captain Heath Streak defied the South African bowlers long enough to secure a draw for their side when a win looked quite far away.

Graeme Pollock's performance with the bat was outstanding. He played a lone hand of 97 in the first innings when most of his team-mates failed and scored a scintillating 107 in the second innings to put South Africa back on track after a poor start in the first innings.​

He didn't mark the bowlers so everyone capable of bowling was given a go. BTW Sir Viv was a decent part-timer during his career. Took 32 wickets in Tests and 223 in FC cricket. Gayle though is a genuine batting all-rounder so he is an ideal option as players here are mainly rated on career stats.
