Bolton dominated both possession and chances, mainly through the flanks.Liverpool were struggling to stop these barrage of attacks.
Borgetti on one occassion just managed to keep the ball in play as he crossed it.The high cross fooling everyone as Stelio's tried to head the ball down,it took a brilliant one handed low save from Yorkie to keep that out.If Liverpool are going to get anything out of this game, they will need to thank goalie Yorkie for that save !!!
SUBS HELP LIVERPOOL RECOVER
Manager Sid was told by his asst. manager CD to bring on some subs, including captain Kev to bring some new energy into the game. This seemed to bring new life into the Liverpool team as the regained their hold over the game. What they really need now is a goal to get back onto the lead.Well Usy's effort was nowhere near goal,so they need something better.
When all seemed to be going bad for Liverpool, they suddenly created magic.Kev was the starter getting his big body in the way to regain possession,Hondeyho then passed to Usy who played a long ball, either in hope or he spotted James running like a hare.James then showed his skills by evading Nicky Hunt's sliding challenge, only to hit a left footer which had pace and curl in it."Now even Harry Kewell would be proud of that, son".Can Bolton bounce back in the final 7 minutes?
Weldone lads. Keep it up.
I've observed that, our forwards and defenders are doing well but we are giving too much possession away in the midfield.(Only 38% ball possession)So, I'm still not happy with that. But let's hope we'll improve that in the future.
Bolton gave it their all in the last final minutes, but it took some herioc defending.Manager Sid ordered most of his men to come into their half to defend,so when Liverpool managed to get the ball they mostly cleared it back into the Bolton half.In other words,Liverpool were holding on.
Bringing on experienced Kev seemed to make a difference as he played through the pain to herioically save some of the final Bolton attacks especially from Nolan.Goalie Yorkie also looked to be commanding in the box.Just seconds away from a away win now for Liverpool.
Steven Gerrard today came to congragulate his Liverpool teammates on their great change from PlanetCricket members to Liverpool heroes. He wanted them to show the same spirit in future games and was hoping that Liverpool manage to get a good result against Arsenal in the next match.

Exclusive Press Interview with Liverpool's New Assistant Manager CD
Exclusive Press Interview with Liverpool's new Asst. Manager CD
Q: So CD, are you happy with the performance of the team so far??
CD : "Yep, I'm delighted for the players, for the supporters and for the club. We couldn't have asked for a better start to the season, specially after that pre-season friendly defeat to Celtic."
Q: How difficult is it for you to cope with such a young squad?
CD: "Well ofcourse, it's difficult to be consistent with such a new and young squad, but our boys are determined to do well as a unit and that's what?s important for us.We have lots of talented players along with the experienced Kev and Vaughan and I'm sure we would do well."
Q: What do you emphasise in training?
CD: "Well, the first priority is to improve defensive tactical play because this is less complicated than the attacking side and is important for success. The most important thing for me is to be organized. I work a lot on patterns of play and, of course, as the statistics prove, counter-attacks and set-plays are very important. When we talk about set-plays, I agree with Sir Alex Ferguson that delivery is everything."
Q: Looking ahead to the season what are your immediate objectives?
CD: "To win the next match. My idea is not to think too much about the future. I take one week at a time and prepare the team for that. Win one match and move on to the next."
Q: But would it be your ultimate aim to make Liverpool Kings of Europe once again?
CD: "Yes, of course. If you think on a match-by-match basis it does not mean you don't think about winning titles. The problem in football is when you say 'I will win titles', because people then want it now, that moment. I think it's necessary to walk well before you can run and the important competitions like the European Cup will then come."
Q: When we speak to the players, they always tell us how much they enjoy themselves in training. Have you been surprised to how well the players here have taken to your coaching techniques?
CD: "I think the players are convinced about what we are doing and trying to achieve. You can see in training that the things that they are doing are the right things to be successful. The most important thing is not to win; it's to prepare yourself to have the capacity to win. It is not about wanting to do something; it is simply having the capacity to do what you want. Then, and only then, can you achieve your goals but to do this, you need to work very hard."
Q: What did you think of the players' fitness and skill levels when you came to the club?
CD: "I think that the English game is a lot different to the rest of Europe because you play a lot more games and don't have a break. Instead, at Christmas, you actually play more games than any other tine of year! I think that this has an influence on the players' levels of fitness and skill and we'll try to change this. The players now realise the great importance of our training. If we are doing the right things in training we will benefit in the end. Like I have already said, the most important thing is to have the capacity to win. Sometimes when a player is rested for matches and trains very hard, then the next time they play, they say that they played a lot better and felt very fit.I think that no matter how fit players think they are, the same eleven can't play every game. For me, training is the most important thing."
Q: Finally, What is your evaluation of the new manager Sid and what you both have to offer?
CD: I think it's clear that Sid is a very talented and hard working manager. He's brought a noticeable improvement in the quality of the play.Still hard to say precisely what we would offer, as his work along with me is behind the scenes.
Thanks CD, all the best for the rest of the season.
CD: Thank you very much.

AC:Yes you mentioned the two fabulous strikes, what did you see of the winning strike by james from where you were on the pitch?
Treva:I was just on the half way line coming forward with the counter attack when James just let rip a fire cracker that somehow flew in bottom corner! If he can score like that then he had us fooled in training!
*Laughter*
