LIVERPOOL V ARSENAL

The big game is about to kick off at Highbury. Both managers have had a go at the media before the game.Arsene Wenger suggests that Liverpool manager Sid is foolish to recruit such amateurs and that Arsenal will teach them a lesson.Liverpool manager Sid insists that he is confident about his team and their chances against Arsenal even though they are playing away.He also beleives playing 2 strikers up front with an attacking formation.

CAGEY AFFAIR IN THE FIRST FEW MINUTES

Liverpool started the game with passion. The players seemed to believe in the manager's and asst. manager's attacking strategy and looked to attack whenever they had the ball. The downside to this was that they didnt have the ball for long periods which Arsenal did however without putting it to much use.Overall the game was pretty dull during this period and the only shot on goal by Gamerkid was saved comfortably by Lehmann.

If that was the only shot on goal, then it must be very dull and boring game. I hope Liverpool can win this.

LEHMANN IN TOP FORM AS LIVERPOOL ATTACK

The chances continued to come Liverpool's way and Gamerkid especially seemed to be up for this game.He brilliantly dribbled past three defenders before toe poking an effort which was brilliantly saved by Lehmann who seemed to be in top form.Lauren completed the clearance, but Arsene Wenger might well be eating up his pre match comments on Liverpool right now.

LIVERPOOL LUCKY TO STILL BE ON EVEN TERMS

Arsenal started to get back in their normal flowing style in the last few minutes of the first half.Henry made some good runs on the left and tried playing his teammates from there. One such ball nearly reached Bergkamp, but goalie Drewska was onto it in a flash. From the goal kick however Drewska made a mess of the kick, probably thinking about his weekend holiday. The ball was back on Bergkamp's feet who thought that Christmas had arrived too early,he tried to pass the ball into the net.But in came captain Kev charging to the rescue,he was just in time to clear that ball of the line as replay's confirmed, although Arsenal coach Wenger was furious about the decision.Seems like Drewska's going to get some stick from his teammates and the coach at half time.

Drewska, you useless %$%$S$ $%% $%$%%. What were you thinking?

lol,I pretty much actually gave up myself,so I was surpised how Kev could get there eventually. From another angle actually I could see half of the ball in the goal,so it was a very close thing indeed.

[Note:A minor mistake in there, the comment would be Drewska saves but makes a mess of the clearance.]

Been a quiet match for me so far, Drewska's spastic movements almost cost us though :p

LIVERPOOL ON TOP AS ARSENAL DOWN TO TEN

As both teams tried settling down after half time,it seemed that Asst. Manager CD had told James at half time to try unsettle the Arsenal right back Lauren.Around the 40th minute James went in hard on Lauren, but the referee deemed it as a fair tackle.Lauren took matters in his own hands and head butted James on the forehead.Luckily James was fine but Lauren wasnt,he was sent off.Liverpool were certainly on top now as their manager used this chance to make his substitutions.

When I read Lauern sent off for head-butting I though you were reinacting Zidane's incident. A bit of luck for Liverpool with that clearence how Bergkamp missed is another story.

LEHMANN KEEPS LIVERPOOL OUT

Jens Lehmann made a succession of fantasic and spectacular saves as the game reached the last 10 minutes.Arsenal had changed formation and now had 9 players in their own half with only Henry playing alone up front.Liverpool started having more possession but struggled to break the gritty Arsenal defense. When they did manage to break through,a magnificent keeper stopped them brilliant utterly determined to keep Liverpool out.As the game entered the last 10 mintues Liverpool seem to be going Gung Ho at Arsenal's steady defense.

Wow! we are playing really well today. I can see definite improvement from the last 2 matches.:) Keep it up. They are down to 10 men now. We must score here now.

Agreed Asst. Manager.Just to improve further we are going to have a training camp tommorow and our next game wont be before Monday,so that should help our team prepare even better for the next set of games. :)

HENRY SEALS LATE WINNER

Liverpool did most of the attacking in the final ten minutes.Arsenal seemed to be playing a waiting game, they kept men back thus tempting more and more Liverpool players forward.Even Henry was coming back to defend at some points. As the game seemed to be heading for a draw unless Liverpool got a late winner,Arsenal keeper Lehmann made a easy save off Treva who had come to attack. He immediately launched the ball towards Henry who chose a path on the left with plenty of space with Treva still coming back to defend. As Henry came close to goal his effort was blocked brilliantly by Kev,but Henry latched on to the rebound among a cloud of Liverpool players and tapped in the solitary goal of the game."Manager Sid and Asst. Manager CD were furious as to how Henry could get the touch with so many Liverpool players in the box." Arsene Wenger was ecstatic and was celebrating as if his team had won the league. They had won the game however with ten men with Liverpool players utterly dissapointed at the result.
