LV County Championship 2008

Why the heck did we get Lou Vincent, oh dear.

You could blame that on jet lag! :p

But Mal Loye. What a really bad year. He is underperforming... Big time! :noway

Fingers crossed he can be back to his deadly best in the twenty20's I got him on my fantasy twenty20!

COME ON LANCS!

'Nother 5-for for Jones. In front of Geoff Miller no less.

He's gotta be up there for a test recall sooner or later, he's been in immense form this season, i'd love to see a bowling attack of Sidebottom, Jones, Broad, Panesar and Flintoff. Drop Colly for Flintoff, Freddie probably offers more batting at the moment :p. Fitness is going to be the key for Fred and Jones though, if Jones stays fit all summer it's going to be very tough to ignore him, especially after his previous performances for England. Be chuffed to see the reverse swing specialist back after such a long break.

exciting game at chester-le-street, hampshire winning by 4 runs. davies n harmison puting on 57 for 11th wicket but they fell just 4 short.

this somerset partnership between de Bruyn and Blackwell is really frustrating me! hoggard brought back in to attack hopefully he can break this partnership and send yorkshire to only their second win of the year! :p

Shane Bond 9 wickets. What we would have done to have him this test series.

Because he was in the country playing Lancashire league cricket, and he is all you can afford at the moment - Considering your paying Mal Loye, Dominic Cork and Luke Sutton hefty wages, as well as the sums your now cashing out to Stuart Law on his new contract and people like Francois Du Plessis, who really hasn't come cheap.

Right guys, need some assistance. Have been trying to get the girlfriend into cricket and as part of that, after exams, I want to take her to a day at a county championship match, so we can sit in the sun together, she can read or listen to her mp3 player if she gets bored, and I can explain what is happening in the game as it happens. I live in Wolverhampton, so I think Edgbaston is the nearest ground. However, Warwickshire aren't the most exciting county to watch and the fixtures I saw at home in the period I'm looking at (preferably July or August) are against similar sides. Does anyone know of any decent fixtures between 2 fairly exciting teams (I'm looking for either good overseas players or players who have played for England or are likely to in the future) within a sensible driving distance? Any advice would be appreciated.

Even thought about the shorter version? Maybe a Twenty20 game?

I know it might be a bit too late, but When I took my girlfriend to a LVCC game she said she would prefer to go to the twenty20's. So I am going to all the twenty20 games with her now.

I did mention this to her, but got the impression a day at the Championship would be better for her. First, it's quiet, so we can talk about the cricket and she won't feel self concious about asking questions. Secondly, it's a lot more expensive to see a Twenty20. I'm also trying to plug the fact that if worst comes to worst and she hates it, it's a quiet day, in the sun, with me.

Good idea mate.

Good luck! ;)

Well, I'd say what I said was more rhetorical than anything. I'd rather have just played someone like Gareth Cross up the order, instead of him. I know du Plessis is a Kolpak, but we had him as the overseas player, which was enough, in my opinion.

Lancashire all out 392.

Very good score seen as we were 64-4 at one point!

Come on Freddie!
