Best fast bowler I ever had the privilege to witness

Yeah, I'd agree with that. I've been watching cricket since 1980 and Marshall is still the best bowler I've ever seen. There are various bowlers you always feared when they came onto bowl, such as Waqar (in his pomp), Warne, Murali, Ambrose etc but there were always periods when batsmen might be able to score off them. With Marshall you never felt batsmen were properly in. His skiddy action was always deceptive and his bouncers are still the best I've seen

Quite possibly, always quite difficult to compare "best ever"s when they are across eras because stats can prove unreliable. I mean would Bradman have averaged nearly 100 if batting against Marshall, Holding, Garner etc, or even in the modern era?

I would be hard pressed not to include him in my all-time World XI, hard as they are to pick. Shame his batting figures never did him justice.
