I have the setting on NAV.

I know that the VOR is not tuned in because no information is popping up on the DME. I tried switching between NAV 1 and 2 as well.

Do I have to click anything once I tune the Nav radio to the VOR frequency? Or is it automatically set?

NAV 1 should work if the frequency is correct. How far from the airport are you when using it? For instance - with ILS glidescope (which uses the same technology as VOR), mostly activates 30-40 miles from an airport.

Yea I am using that one now. So I managed to fly to a VOR properly, I just had no idea when I reached it

It's pretty challenging stuff learning how to fly and navigate properly but it is sweet when you get it right.

Do you have any working version of flight sim right now ?

FSX. Was back on multi player for the first time in ages.....

nah never a lesson but I've been up with my Dad a few times when I was younger. Will probably start taking actual lessons sometime next year.

What is multiplayer like on FSX? What all can you do?

I haven't explored it thoroughly, though I believe you can do missions with other people. I've been on free flight. Doing short hops with other people. I've got deluxe so I may give being a controller a go.

As for the flying - definitely do it. Amazing feeling. Been on 5 so far. Saving to do PPL, and then hopefully become an instructor after Night flying and instructor courses. Just means I'm gonna have to stick out what I'm doing currently to get the money...

Yea saving money for it myself, but I am planning on saving the entire amount so that once I start I can have my PPL in 3 months. Need about $10,000 to be safe.

wow, its actually $6500 here and I can get it even cheaper because my Dad knows a few CFI's

I just want 10k to be safe and have all those extra hours.

Working on VOR Triangulation now, pretty neat system, like a super intricate highway system of the sky. When you combine it with proper ATC rules and airspace boundaries , even a short hop is challenging.
