Just installing Flight Simulator X. Hopefully my computer can handle the graphics pretty well.

Xtreme Airports #2 (Gibraltar)

Ok so here is the 2nd one on the list, Gibraltar's North Front Airport LXGB.

Left from Madeira, Portugal, IFR using low altitude airways.

What makes this one tricky is the approach, over a bay and some mountains, and thanks to the approach pattern you deal with all types of wind gusts.

Ocean on both side of the runway, so disaster for landing short or overshooting. No ILS available either.

Managed to keep my speed down this time but I descended way to early.

Here is my approach:

and here is the landing video:

the airport in real life:

There is a highway that runs through the middle of the runway, they have to close it when planes are landing.

and this is the list of History Channels 10 most Xtreme Airports,

I was doing them out of order but now will start from 10 and work my way down.

9. LPMA - Madeira, Portugal ----------done

8. KEGE - Vail, CO

7. LFLJ - Courchevel, France

6. VHHH - Hong Kong Kai Tak

5. LXGB - Gibraltar -----------done

4. TNCM - St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

3. TFFJ - St. Barth's

Man FSX is pretty immense. A huge step up from FS2002 graphics wise. The frame rates takea bit of fiddling to do with to stop it 'lagging'. Still haven't fully fixed the right balance for the detail for graphics yet either.

You always seem to be landing at an angle rather than straight on Mark, although I can't imagine it's easy with such a small view.

So the big rock thing wasn't there.

Swear you were going to land in the water :p.

@Mark - are you on FS9 or FSX? Another nice landing as well. :)

And that St Maarten's airport is just crazy! If the pilot borks the landing and undershoots the runway, that's a whole load of people wiped out right there!

I'm on fs9.

Will be doing San Diego and Vail Colorado today.

if you full screen the video it will be easier to see?

Can't wait to do St Maartin, and St Barths, both are really fun airports.

Pretty crap

2.2 Ghz old processor

ATI Raedeon 9550 (256 mb)

1 gig ram

What do you mean access? I just fly there, I am using completely vanilla fs9 except for the aircraft.

So far all the airports have been accurately represented in the game.
