Dilshan played a huge role in Delhi Daredevils' victory

Delhi Daredevils rocketed to the top of the Indian Premier League table with a comfortable victory over Bangalore Royal Challengers at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. In front of a capacity 40,000, the Daredevils controlled their chase well, courtesy of a quick fire 45 from Tillakaratne Dilshan, along with valuable contributions from AB de Villiers(37) and Dinesh Karthik (28), to chase down the Royal Challengers' total of 177. Bangalore Royal Challengers were able to reach the total courtesy of a brilliant partnership between Ross Taylor(80) and Virat Kohli(70).

An allround performance from the Daredevils there. Bangalore needed an economical bowler. Karthik and Vettori finished the innings well

Man of the Match Munaf Patel and Yusuf Pathan played key roles

A charged-up Rajasthan Royals won their second game in a row, demolishing Chennai Super Kings, and MS Dhoni's side's net-run rate, with a big win at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad. The vaunted Chennai Super Kings top order collapsed for the second match in a row, and there were no lower-order heroics to rescue them in the chase this time.

Sachin and Nayar stars after bowlers restrict Deccan Chargers

Abhishek Nayar's 20-ball 41 guided Mumbai Indians home

Fine batting performances by skipper Sachin Tendulkar and Abhsihek Nayar followed an efficient display in the field as Mumbai Indians wrapped up a five-wicket win against Deccan Chargers in the twenty-fifth game of the Indian Premier League.

Tendulkar's decision to put Deccan Chargers in to bat was justified as Deccan Chargers were restricted to 148 for 6, with Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard picking one wicket apiece and Zaheer Khan picking up two. Mumbai Indians, led by Sachin Tendulkar's 40 and Nayar's 20-ball 41, chased down the target with more than four overs to spare.

The target wasn't a daunting one, but Mumbai Indians lost Sanath Jayasuriya with only 41 on the board. Ambati Rayudu, coming in at No. 3, blasted two fours and a six, all off Ryan Harris, who leaked 16 runs in his second over. Pragyan Ojha came on in the sixth over, and was hit for two sixes - one over the sightscreen and the other over midwicket - by Tendulkar. RP Singh got the better of the 'Little Master' as he got him leg before in his third over.

Harris too got his revenge when Rayudu was caught at long-off for 22, and it was followed by a middle order collapse as Dwayne Bravo and Chandan Madan both departed for a duck and suddenly the Mumbai Indians were 87 for 5. But Nayar joined JP Duminy in steading the innings, in a partnership which guided them home and yielded 64 runs in 32 balls.

Deccan Chargers struggled to make an impression in the field, and their batting performance earlier in the day wasn't much better. They got off to a good start when Adam Gilchrist hit a six in the first over off Zaheer Khan, but the bowler struck back by picking two wickets, dismissing VVS Laxman for 3, followed by his Ranji team-mate Rohit Sharma for 5 of 6 balls.

Adam Gilchrist and his former Australian team-mate Andrew Symonds, then put on a 53-run stand for the fourth wicket, before Gilchrist was run out by JP Duminy while going for the second. Deccan CHargers were 83 for 5 off 14.2 overs, before Venugopal Rao picked up the momentum with a four and six in the 15th over, bowled by Pollard. That over cost 13, while the next - bowled by Nayar - went for 10, with Azhar Bilakhia hitting a four and six after Andrew Symonds was run out again by JP Duminy.

They were pegged back, though, by a wicket in Pollard's second over - the 18th of the innings - as Bilakhia gave a simple catch to long-on fielder Jayasuriya. A cameo of 24 runs from 10 balls by the Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris helped the Deccan Chargers reach a reasonable total, though it wasnt good enough to challenge the Mumbai Indians.
