Very good performances by Taylor, Steyn and Kumble by the looks of it. Hopefully Bangalore will make the semis now...

Nehra successfully appeals for a caught behind against Tendulkar

Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir produced a hard-hitting second wicket stand of 114 to build on a outstanding bowling performance, as Delhi Daredevils with an eight-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium. Mumbai Indians owed their meagre total of 138 for 8 to former Delhi Daredevils man Shikhar Dhawan, who top-scored with 59 from 75 balls, but he was trumped by the Daredevils' bowling. Sehwag then burst out of the traps in the run-chase, belting five fours and three sixes in a 57-ball 60, and was ably supported by skipper Gambhir, with 54 from 44. The match was so one-sided that even out of form keeper Dinesh Karthik was able to score nothing in five balls.

Easy win for the DDs there. Looking at the points table, it's pretty tight for the semis. By my reckoning only Kolkata and Deccan are out of it. Poor old Deccan seem to be the KXIP of this IPL!

DD batsmen have made the pitch to look in other way, which means Dhawan's innings is just a utter waste of time :p

Hayden ends Kolkata's hopes

Matthew Hayden smashed the bowlers with his Mangoose bat

A magnificent 56-ball hundred from Matthew Hayden took Chennai Super Kings a step closer towards the semi-finals at the expense of Kolkata Knight Riders, beating them by nine wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Angelo Matthews' 30-ball 64 helped Kolkata set Chennai a total of 165 in 20 overs. But a brilliant opening partnership of 146 between Matthew Hayden and Murali Vijay almost guided them home. Hayden fell immediately after reaching his hundred which contained sixteen fours and two sixes but Vijay's unbeaten 52 from 48 balls guided Chennai home.

Yusuf Pathan smashes Dale Steyn for one of his four sixes

Rajasthan Royals allrounders Yusuf Pathan and Shane Watson combined well to give themselves a chance to qualify for the semi-finals at the expense of Royal Challengers Bangalore with a eight-wicket win at the Swami Mansingh Stadium. Their unbroken second-wicket stand of 126 helped secure the victory with 5 balls to spare, after they had encountered early difficulties during the chase of 141 - slipping to 15 for 2 in the fourth over. However, Pathan and Watson calmed nerves, with Pathan blasting 93 of 50 balls, including ten boundaries and four sixes. Watson though, played the anchor role in his 49-ball 24. Put in by Rajasthan, openers Jacques Kallis and Manish Pandey gave them a solid but slow started. Manish Pandey top scored with 67 from 65 balls, while Kallis remained unbeated on 57 off 48-balls. Kamran Khan and Munaf Patel picked one wicket each for the Royals. Bangalore will need to win their last remaining game against Mumbai Indians and hope some results go their way, if they have to stand a chance to qualify for the semi-finals.

Chennai edge Delhi in high-scoring thriller

Dhoni hits a towering six of Nehra

A high-scoring thriller which produced 408 runs finally went the way of Chennai Super Kings, as they edged Delhi Daredevils to record their seventh win of the IPL and further increase their hopes of a semi-finals place. After Matthew Hayden(78 off 46 balls) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni(84 from 49 balls) had powered Chennai to 214, Delhi put up a spirited run-chase, thanks largely to the 129-run opening pair of Virender Sehwag and David Warner. In the end, though, their effort wasn't enough, which means Delhi still have work to do to make it to the last four.

Great innings by Dhoni there. Delhi needed their middle order to fire but that didn't happen and they lost the match.

Woah! Bowlers Massacred there. Unfortunately fo Delhi, they depended too much on their openers and didnt have a hard-hitter in the middle-order.
