A view of the entire arena. This was taken way before the start of the session, therefore the
majority of the seats are empty.

Men's Doubles - Semi Finals (England VS India)

------

(Pardon me for the quality of the pictures. They were taken by cellphone camera!)

Have the tickets been reasonably easy to get for the games, or are they way too expensive?

I desparately want to get tickets for London 2012, anything will do, but they aren't on sale and apparently some of the best tickets will cost over ?1000, which is way too expensive. I'm probably only going to be able to pay less than ?50 for a ticket, which probably won't get me much.

The tickets are very cheap. For instance, the most expensive ticket for the Table Tennis event was priced at Rs 750 (i.e about 16 USD/?9). But, they were sold out in a flash!

Hence I had to look for the complementary passes, which I somehow managed to get.

You call 750 bucks cheap and that too for TT :p

Compared to ?1000, yes. :p

Well, to be very honest, considering that you get the most expensive ticket for 750 bucks (that too for a session of 5-6 hours, which features at least 15-20 matches), it is indeed very cheap!

So, the final day of the event today. As it turns out, the last week has been quite spectacular. Big crowds on most of the days for most events. Even the track and field got huge crowds.

The icing on the cake would be a Gold in Hockey. I suspect, that is one gold that would make the entire nation happy. If we can beat the Aussies in the final, I`d say that every penny we spent on this event was worth it:p Lets go! One final time. Also, its pretty close in the medals table between India and England. Hoping for a second place finish!

Although the last few days have been pretty impressive, the pre-event negative press would ensure that the lingering memory would be of stained toilets, which apparently the Scotland contingent claims were not from apartments to be used by the athletes anyway.

From what I read, even the Rugby Sevens games involving Aus, NZ and SA were sold out! Now, thats a surprise.

It couldn't have helped that most of the games were held during the India-Australia series and that India was actually winning.

:p

India lost by 8 -0

Have lost all hope in hockey. Don't know how we won against Pakistan. Maybe they are in turmoil as well.

The netball final was pretty full :p

Though it was mostly made up of the rest of the NZ and Australian competitors since it's one of the last events

But we won :D

1-1 in the Aus vs NZ team sport battles for gold. We won the hockey in an epic and you guys won the Netball in an epic.

Well, that's the end of possibly the worst commonwealth games ever?

The atmosphere during the Saina Nehwal match was the best so far. And the match itself was brilliant.

complete dominance by the Australians in hockey today, India was nowhere in the match.

Though good to see Saina Nehwal winning the gold and India got a gold in TT too.

Proud to finish 2nd and with more than 100 medals.
