It might have been slightly harder against Bond but this is still giving batsmen a lot of credit for simply unfavourable bowling conditions. Mills is generally no slouch, but he might have been caught off guard expecting the ball to do a bit more through the air. It was a fairly predictable occasion at the Adelaide Oval, which makes me wonder why Patel was omitted.Exactly. That's usually the reason they can bat so easily. Mills wasn't bowling bad balls, Gilly was just too good. Fetching perfect length balls from outside the offstump. Wouldn't have been so easy against Bondy though.
Gillespie isn't someone we would like to be opening the bowling. But unfortunately Franklin and Bond are both injured. Bondy and Mills sounds like a pretty nice combo to me. Let us hope we can field them against England. Having Franklin as well would be terrific.
