New Zealand In Australia

Vettori sounded like an idiot when he said he'd bat first and 'try to ignore the overhead conditions.'

Where's Fleming at anyway?

In that case Vettori is a bigger idiot for not begging him not to retire.

Australia would've batted first. If there was hope of scoring runs, it would be when the weather held out and allowed an hour or two of unbroken play. As it is, probably 50 overs have already been lost, so it's already largely irrelevant how NZ did early on.

Thank god this looks like it's going to be rained out. I think we got saved there. Even though Styris looked really good.

Hopkins is a terrible player. Put Sinclair back in. Just use him at the top and maybe slide Vincent down somewhere. If he goes out with a free license at the end of the innings, he might bash a few runs and get some confidence.

I am going to the game today! :happy. Though knowing the SCG most times Australia play One Day cricket there it rains so I am hoping that the weather holds off and I can see New Zealand waste their time :)

LOL you knew beforehand about rain :p

Hope you took your raincoat.

Awesome start by Lee and Bracken too bad the game got washed out we were looking good to get back the C/H trophy.

I took a poncho which is like a rain coat. The SCG curse strikes again . Hopefully my friend will get a refund.

For the six overs I saw they were great. I was on the phone to my mum when the third wicket fell it was like. "How is it going?", "Hang on for a sec. YESSS! Got him! Take a walk pal! Yeah, what were you saying?" :p. People were singing during the rain break, like "Take me too the April sun in Cuba", "Old McDonald" and my personal favourite "Under The Bridge" which I was really shocked when they started singing so I joined in :D. So I was dissapointed to get home a lot early then expected but what I saw was pretty cool.

Sucks man. Lee was on fire.

Well Gilly is not playing next game. He will be resyed for India series. Maybe Kiwis can sneak this one.

New Zealand have somehow lost their way since Fleming left.
Agreed the transition was smooth, but there seem to be some problems with the team.
I would like to attribute this to the retirements of Fleming,Astle and McMillan.

We are going to die, if he carries this form into the India series. :(

Anyway, I agree that Hopkins shouldn't be in the team, he looks really terrible and there is no way he can stand up to the Australian attack.

Sinclair must be hated by the selectors. 1 failure and he's out. Move him up the order and keep the side how it is. If anyone should lose their spot it's Vincent. Sinclair opening would be a lot more suitable for him then closing. Besides How can open and Sinclair could go at 3, where he actually plays. Then either try Vincent down the order or use Hopkins.

How
McCullum
Sinclair
Styris
Taylor
Vincent
Oram
Mills
Vettori
Patel
Martin
