New Zealand Tour of India, November 2010/11

Just saw this on Cricinfo:

Cricinfo said:
McCullum was clutching his back after landing while attempting to take a catch during training. Guptill and McIntosh to open the batting.

Don't think it's anything too serious or else he wouldn't be in the starting XI. Hopefully it doesn't affect him too much during the match.

Aw, Williamson just loves his ducks :p I reckon he'll get one on his T20I debut too :cheers

And McCullum's injury/sprain/whatever must be fairly serious, New Zealand's 5 down and he still hasn't been sent in.

Why do we wait till the third test to provide some help for the seamers? Or is it just the conditions?

Even without Zaheer, India is doing very well with the ball. Should restrict NZ to anything less than 200.

McCullum's injury was the catalyst, I said when Guptill and McIntosh walked out to open that we were back to our old budget opening partnership, and batting Taylor at three when he's in no form wasn't going to help.
Not sure what's up with McCullum, if Hopkins' is batting ahead of him the injury must be kind of serious, we didn't have any other batsmen in our 13 so I guess they had no choice.

I don't think NZ gonna score more than 150.
I think India gonna get a handsome lead.

Meet added 4 Minutes and 2 Seconds later...

Its only 9 wickets.Isn't it?
With the one more wicket falling, i think there will be a collapse now as only bowlers to follow

Just getting worse for NZ, 2 injured batsman batting who can hardly run and are not allowed to have runners. It would be tough for them to get to even 150.

Ryder continues his good run against India. Well done Jesse, KIU! :)

But now the Indian bowlers need to take his wicket. He is just being a thorn in the flesh for us.

They made it to day 2 anyway, so if they can bat into the afternoon, then it would be a surprise to see India send them back in before day 4. Hopes of a draw remain high!

haha, finally a good day of cricket which is actually good for test cricket happened.

A great day for India, bowlers did their work, pitch was great and runs are also not that tougher to make than NZ showed us. India will settle them under 200 and India should aim at 400 till Day - 3 stumps and then push for a victory. Ample time for them, Even without Zak we can do it.

Some help off the pitch, and the team looks different. The Indian curators and BCCI have to wake up soon and smell the coffee! Even Dale Steyn, Morkel and co cant rattle a hair on flat pancake wickets.

Nice to see Ishant and Sreesanth do well in the absence of Zaheer. But McCullum has to be snared soon enough here. 200+ would be stupid for India to give.

Sreesanth's bowlinng was magnificent today. That uprooting of stumps was magnificent to watch. :D His bowling was well complemented by Ishant in other end. These stuffs are really a confidence booster for SA series. If Zaheer is fit, Zaheer-Ishant-Sreesanth are going to be nightmares in SA. If I am not wrong, Sree did well in SA last time too.

Hope everything falls into place for our bowling unit by the time we tour SA.
