New Zealand tour of India - October/November 2017

He didn't take wickets. He didn't bowl.
Yeah that cricbuzz website had error initially they updated Prithv's wicket column instead of Shahbaz Nadeem - who eventually went on to pick up those 3 wickets. And coming onto Shahbaz Nadeem i feel he is bit unlucky to born in this era of left arm spinners (the likes of Jadeja , Axar and Krunal Pandya) who are quite handy with the bat as well unlike Nadeem which is probably one of the reasons of him being overlooked despite knocking on the doors for quite some time now . From being the highest wicket taker in last 2 years of the Ranji season and now some consistence performances in these A matches.

Yeah, but this isnt just from now. I remember Harsha Bhogle saying in the IPL 2012 that Shahbaz Nadeem is one of the best current spinner to still not havent played for India.

I'm afraid we ain't getting any left armers.

India need to get a breakthrough here at this point. NZ are going nicely cruising towards their target. This is the reason why India need an attacking seam bowler to bowl in the middle overs who can choke the opposition, like Hasan Ali for Pak. There isn't much pressure applied for now.

India are happy and content with this defensive approach where they look to contain sides right through. Iam happy we are bring shown our place. Our side has so many weaknesses which were getting masked during our wins. We will lose this series. NZ are a much superior side. We need to think about playing Rohit in the middle order in order to have an attacking batting option in the middle overs. Let Rahane or Rahul open the innings as they are vetter against quality pace.

This is what happens when we don't face quality bowling for so long. We struggled a lot against Boult today. If Starc and Hazlewood had played, I am sure the Aussie series would have been tougher. Basically Kohli had to see off opening overs, bring stability in middle order and slog in the end. What's the job of other batsmen ? And I feel Kohli should have tried Jadhav in middle overs when we were not getting any wickets. Hopefully we come back strong in the next game.

NZ played very well. Did not think they could pull off the win after Guptill got out. That partnership was amazing.

Dhoni`s role is adding a lot to India`s plight. With the resources at our disposal, we should be scoring 300+ at ease but we find ourselves huffing and puffing to 280 each time. Dhoni's utility, to put it bluntly, is to dig us out of a 50/5 like situation to a position of respectability. He cannot bat any lower than No.5. We must now forget about how good a finisher he was. He is fast turning out to be a liability to this side. Our XI needs a huge rejig, despite all our victories. I`d be glad if we lose this series to wake up to the realities.

Rahane is a BIG no in LOI. Dhawan up against a good bowler is a disaster waiting to happen. How can you not have Rohit?

Next match is in Pune which also has a bit of zip just like wankhede wicket. So expecting NZ seamers to do well again , India on the other hand the middle conundrum is getting worse day by day . Not sure when and how this will be settled the current middle order is worst we had over the years and it has been the same since 2013 . My lineup going into 2019 will be very much like this.
Rahul/Pant
Rohit
Kohli
Dhoni/Pant
Karthik/Pandey
Raina
Pandya
Bhuvi
Kuldeep
Shami/Chahal
Bumrah

India crash to defeat at the hands of NZ at Wankhede in the first ODI, losing by 6 wickets!

India have been certainly brought down to earth and reality exposing a plethora of eminent cracks in their lineup!

Great game and looking forward to another loss for the Indians.[DOUBLEPOST=1508696837][/DOUBLEPOST]
