New Zealand tour of India (Sept-Oct 2016)

I'm not saying Pakistan can't win in India against India, it's just it be very hard to beat India in India. India can dominate against any team in their home conditions. If Pakistan played ever in a series against India, and won against them, they would rightfully be the No.1 team.
Yes, but Pakistan has all a team needs to win in India. Good players of spin, good spinners and pacers who can reverse the old ball.

Probably. England has the team to do it as well.

It's scary how good Ashwin is bowling right now. He had not much assistance from the pitch yesterday and still was able to take a 6-fer with the variation in speed. The way he deceived Tom Latham was amazing to watch. I also think that Gambhir might have played his last game for India. By the time the first test starts against England, KL Rahul will be back. It's like he is back to zero and will need to start all over again once he recovers to make it to the team again.

This is why we want to see how Ashwin fares when our next set of overseas tours come in. I wish by that time, Kumble is still around as coach and this current setup still exists. Kumble has a lot more background experience of conquering the overseas battle and shutting up people who said 'Kumble is a bully at home and a lamb abroad'. No matter what stats people show, there was once a time when Kumble went through exactly the same thing that Ashwin is going through. I feel Ashwin's performances overseas is only going to improve drastically if he continues to be treated as he is now (i.e. as the premier strike bowler, the attacker).

Seeing the way Gambhir has played so far in both innings I will have him any day in the side then Dhawan. He is on 32 ball 33 in second innings and his shots and the elegance is just nostalgic. Miss those days of him Sehwag Tendulkar Dravid Laxman.

Despite being injured, he scored a selfless quick fire half century. #GG

And that is a thrashing performance by India... Ashwin has been excellent

Its not usual that a double century scoring captain (and the top scorer of the match) not getting the man of the match- and Ashwin deserves it! Great performance by Indian team and a great clean sweep on this wonderful day.

Hoping BCCI will continue the practice of national anthems of either teams before match in ODIs too and make it a tradition. It indeed gives a great feel before the game and on the other hand, improves the infrastructure of Indian grounds and they'll have the necessary public announcement systems installed in all international venues.

A solid series win by the boys. It was good to see Pujara playing more freely after lunch and getting to his much deserved century. I also thought after yesterday's injury that Gambhir's career was in trouble but it was good to see him come out and help increase the run rate. In this inning Ashwin was helped by NZ batsmen but he looks in amazing form.

One of the thing that I am looking forward to is when Virat loses a toss and we have to bat last. Virat has had amazing luck with toss since he has become captain in home test matches. It will be interesting to see how tactics change when we lose the toss and have to bat last on these pitches.

Also Harbhajan seems quite jealous on twitter by Ashwin's performances.

He said that if India or BCCI would have given pitches like this to him and Kumble they would have had more wickets then what they currently have. I would have agreed this comment if it was during that South Africa series where we rolled them in 2 and half days but all the pitches that were there in this series were just amazing. It was not turning from day 1 and eventually started turning from Day 3 like how it used to be. There was everything for everyone the fast bowlers, spinners & batsman. @abhi_jacko

Wow, what a loser comment from Harbhajan. Never liked him as a person

It's going to be interesting when KL Rahul comes back. What if they bring Dhawan back as a reserve opener than Gambhir. Even though Gambhir scored a great half century Dhawan would still be given the nod for reserve opener when he comes back.[DOUBLEPOST=1476218829][/DOUBLEPOST]

But he wasn't that bad of a player.

Comprehensive series whitewash for New Zealand and superb job done by Ashwin and India! Seriously, getting past Ashwin is a herculean task for visiting teams to India. To his defence, the wickets this series were nowhere near rank turners. In fact they have been good batting wickets which helped spinners towards Day 3 and later. NZ just didn't have an answer for Ashwin, and against Jadeja. Harbhajan is just jealous that Ashwin is leapfrogging him in the stats and is venting out frustration.

I know this would be construed as hatred against GG, but Dhawan is still my preferred 'first backup opener'. Dhawan has also scored these half centuries for India in some recent tests. GG had to return as his career was on the line. It buys him that 'second backup opener' spot for sometime. But to me, he has still not leapfrogged Dhawan, let alone getting to the top two openers, Vijay and Rahul.
