Doesn't matter if they are 'world class' or not, the point is if they are great in one format it doesn't mean they are great in all formats. Steve Waugh would be in a similar situation to Jayawardene both great test batsman but then look at what they have done in ODI's it's very average.

Very mature. In crunch ODI games SL has pretty much wiped the floor with NZ ala WC 2003/WC2007 and of course the recent 20/20. I understand that people are genuinely supportive of their own teams but to state SL are nillers at ODIs is just plain riddiculous. It was 2-2 the last time we toured NZ and that was after NZ were leading 2-0.
Be objective and logical in arguments not just blatantly one sided.
happy about Dammika Prasad playing ... he is fast .. currently ranked as fastes bowler in the country ... faster then malinga ... lets see how he proforme .... the wicket looks like very good for batting .. dilshan hmmmm lets see how he bats

I wouldn't have said any of that if your Sri Lankan friend wasn't so biased and cocky. So whatever, I can be a dick too.
This test is already over. The toss basically decided it i'd say. Yawn.
Someone writing into cricinfo basicly sums up my thoughts.
Simon: "I'm just procrastinating my statistics assignment (ironic really) by having a look at the performance of one Jimmy Franklin in county cricket this year. He's been in the runs and taking wickets and playing cricket regularly. However, the NZ selectors persist with Oram who can hardly bowl and whose batting is well past it. Does anyone have any idea why Franky isn't in the test team, as he'd add: a) a left armer, b) a technically correct batsman, and c) another swing bowler!"

Vettori said it was a road.. Hmm NZ needs early wickets and Martin will be the man.. SSC pretty much always swings in the first hour thats the time to strike.. Wow 2 lefties opening the bowling for SL.. Good test for Prasad who is pretty nippy..
But the good thing is it'll be a flat wicket for both teams so NZ should make a good go of it.. Am pretty surprised Patels playing as well he was pretty average in the first Test. Mendis being dropped is a thinker i thought he bowled pretty well in the 2nd innings. He seemed to construct a few overs very well something he hasn't yet learned to do properly.. He only started playing 3 day cricket last season apparently so that explains it.
Lets hope the weather stays fair for a good game.
