New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka, 2009

Well guys, off to get some shut-eye...early start tomorrow as I want to get up early to see a bit of the Twenty20 against the Aussies. Thanks for your company and see you around!:)
So do I, god I hope I picked the right players for my Planet cricket fantasy team.

Vettori would have to be the best all-rounder going around these days wouldn't he. He's the captain of his team, the best bowler and the best batsmen. Can't get any better then that.

Yeah, Too true

Wow! Nice healthy batting average for a tailender. :p

Not too bad with bowling either considering spinners aren't dominating world cricket... (except Murali)

Yea it's not bad ay. It's kind of sad in a way that our best batsmen bats at eight though.

Surely he has got to move up now? He is the only one who has proven to be able to build an innings and steady the ship. He should be given more time at the crease, more opportunity to make an innings instead of worrying how long his partners are going to stick around for. I think he should be coming in much earlier. Surely a real all-rounder, and that is what he is comes in at 5 or 6. If it was up to me, and thankfully it isn't, I'd have Taylor moving up to three and Dan the Man coming in at 5 or 6, and Oram down the order. He is not the all-rounder he used to be. But what do I know.:p

What do you guys think?

Yeah but it's good having him there too save an innings without him at 8 we have a weaker lower order but with him we have quite a realiable lower order.

He's hardly a tailender. He's part of the middle order as far as i'm concerned. He's our best batsman.

Interesting that Martin didn't get out once all series.

WHAT THE!!!! Unbelievable!

I was really impressed with O'Briens batting in the 4th innings. He only had one ugly swat at a spinner and otherwise looked very confident with a big stride. The seamers were not troubling him at all, a far cry from when Brett Lee was bouncing him a year ago.

It takes some character to walk in that situation. I am all for walking but I would have let the umpire decide that one! I read his blog on cricinfo and he seems like a honest fellow and genuinely nice guy, no surprise that he walked then.

Yea he was pretty much on par with Chris Martin when he first came into the team. Daniel Vettori mentioned how hard he's worked on his batting over the last year or so. Can't believe he walked though, bowlers always get rough calls when bowling so I'd take my luck when I'm having a bat.

Forget Oram. I'd hardly call him an all-rounder anymore.

6.Vettori
7.McCullum
8.Franklin

If Franklin's bowling is back to where it was 3-4 years ago I would love to see him back in the team.

Have to agree with that. Looks solid. What about Taylor up to three??
