New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka, 2009

Have to agree with that. Looks solid. What about Taylor up to three??

Not yet. I've always thought that your best batsmen should bat at three, something Kevin Pietersen should be doing for England. But Taylor hasn't been consistant enough at four to move up to three just yet. I would like to see it in the future though.

Forget Oram. I'd hardly call him an all-rounder anymore.

6.Vettori
7.McCullum
8.Franklin

If Franklin's bowling is back to where it was 3-4 years ago I would love to see him back in the team.

I don't think Franklin's bowling is back to where it was and I am doubtful it will ever get back there either however he is still a better allrounder than Oram.

1: Watling/How/Bell
2: Guptill
3: Flynn
4: Taylor
5: Ryder
6: McCullum
7: Franklin
8: Vettori
9: Tuffey
10: Bond
11: O'Brien

Is what I hope to see when Pakistan come in December. Forget 2 spinners for now our second line of spinners are not good enough. Sadly I think the end of the road is coming for Martin and not because of terrible preformances either its just we better players coming back. As normal I expect the roundabout of openers to continue.

Seriously? Keeping Guptill in tests? If Franklins bowling was where it was 3 years ago he would be in my team over Oram in a heartbeat, now I'm sort of unsure on it.

Hit the nail on the head for me there. It's all about openers. If you don't have a solid start the rest are shaky and coming out to bat playing an unnatural game. With England it is the other way round. Solid openers but a shaky middle order. NZ has masses of talent in the middle order but are all to often finding themselves in a situation that they have to be playing like opening batsmen. Sort out the openers and Black Caps will rise up again!

My T20 side

Forget going back to Bell because he has stuggled at international level despite the two centuries, and give How another year in domestic cricket to get his form back. But Watling deserves a chance.

Will we be seeing Bond in the T20's?

We can't get rid of both our openers can we :p Hopefully the selectors dump McIntosh but I don't see it happening just yet. I'd like too see Guptill given the whole Pakistan series anyways.

Totally agree with that team. Vettori at seven would be nice though.

I will agree with you.Guptill has a class in his batting the fact is sri lanka pitches dont suit many player's so getting rid of him because he didn't performed in 2 tests doesn't make any sense.:)

What happened to G Elliot. I think he should have gone to England with all South African background thing.

He was in the test squad and he'll be playing in the one day games.

The 20/20 game is expected to have up to 30,000 people attend, with more then 500 police and security forces. Good effort to get that many people to attend the game, can't wait to see Bond back.

Cricinfo is in the process of picking their top New Zealand XI atm...of the current players, Only Vettori would make it I guess...Bond as well?

Vetorri definitely, not sure about Bond though. Has he really done enough to deserve that?? In my opinion not, in the squad but not in the starting XI.:)

Bond for sure. Best paceman behind Hadlee. I voted for the openers. Pretty easy call with that one. Turner and Wright easily.

I've heard reports that McCullum's not keeping and McGlashan is playing. I'm not happy with that. I certainly hope it's not going to be the same for the One Day stuff. If I were McCullum I wouldn't be letting anyone take the gloves. His batting is pretty poor at the moment, he should be in danger of being dropped. He's not batting well enough to be specialist batsman.
