New Zealand's Tour Of India Aug-Sep 2012

Needless to say I just dropped quite a few F bombs. Guptill still looks all at sea against the spinner, by the looks of things so far very little work was done during the week.

The pitch is meant to be more pace bowler friendly, but that shouldn't matter because we have to win the toss and if we do we have to bat. Hence if we're going to have any chance we're going to have to bat into day two when the pitch will have already more than likely flattened out, but at that stage we're only going to have Patel to call on. If we loss the toss and our young pace trio struggle early on, then I'm afraid to say that it's going to be a very long two days.

I'm not so sure tbh (and I'm not just saying this because we've lost a wicket already) but we also risk the chance at being bowled out for 200 in our first innings, in which case with the pitch flattening out the game would be over anyway.

Its incredible how bad our batting techniques are, most of the top order squares up playing a forward defensive.

Williamson still hasn't got rid of that stupid forward push to shortish deliverers outside off stump. He did it off the last bowl of Zaheer's over just then. It serves no purpose because he's not trying to score any runs, and he's is no danger of getting out if he leaves it.

Not good enough again from Guptill, definitely has some mental issues to sort out. The guy just has far too many meltdowns.

----------

Not sure what the cricinfo commentator is on about, saying Ojha is under-rated because of that dismissal. Guptill just had a big hoick and got caught at midwicket, not much to do with the bowler just poor batting as usual.

India could have done with a bit of experimentation- Badrinath in for Raina. Well, there goes another great career.

That is just ridiculous from Flynn, considering he was out twice sweeping in the last test almost got out today to another sweep and then finally gets out to the sweep again. I mean isn't this the stuff they batting coach needs to be there for?

The Kiwis go past 300... good attacking cricket shown by the batters so far, although a couple of dismissals were casual... that's the way to put up a fight in a test, makes for an interesting match... now it remains to be seen whether their bowler and fielders can put India under pressure :thumbs

I agree but you be amazed how important confidence is. Also most of his sweeps probably come off in the nets.

A good attacking intent on display here. The Kiwis are playing with a positive mindset and for them to score 330/6 in 80 overs after their annihilation in the First Test speaks tons of their improvement.

The way Taylor took control of that innings was really impressive. He said during the week that someone had to go out and score a hundred/a big score, and for him to come out in that fashion and become just the second New Zealand captain ever to score a hundred in India was outstanding.

I know I've been critical of Flynn, but I though he played better than what he scored yesterday. Obviously there's still something wrong because he's got out the same way to the same bowler three times in a row, but the way he complimented Taylor was really good.

Likewise I know what I've said about van Wick (as the Indian commentators call him), but the way he played was also outstanding. He looked like he'd worked his game out and knew what shots he could play unlike the first test, and in tandem with Bracewell that partnership was crucial to ensure that Taylor's innings wasn't wasted. The key now will be to see whether they can come out and get set again, and then continue on.

kerplucking unbelievable from McCullum, wtf is he doing in the slips anyway??

----------

Guess it didn't matter much in the end but you really do need to take every chance, we're not going to get that many.

The problem is there's just no one else to put in there. The only way to get him out of there would be to move Williamson from gully where he's better, but then McCullum will have to go there which won't solve anything.

southee is on fire now pujara also gone :( time for master to show his class and score a brilliant hundred :D
