Nov 25-29: 1st Test: Australia v England at Brisbane

wow that was a dumb call from Ponting. He didn't even talk it out with his keeper.

He took Katich's word over Haddin - the Keeper?

That was just plain dumb he himself didn't appeal and he still refers it. Only one person appealed and that was the guy at short leg.

Pontings been unusually hasty with the reviews today. Hope it comes back to bite him on the ass

Ponting wasn't interested until Katich was crying for it. Ponting was afraid of sleeping on the couch tonight, so he listened to Katich like his BITCH

Impressed with Doherty so far. He's more than just a "tweaker" as War puts it, that's for sure. He has something about him. I like him because he's aggressive and shows genuine wicket-taking intent, unlike Hauritz who went for runs but wasn't particularly adventurous or attacking. I'm not a Hauritz hater, unlike most, but he was basically an honest trier. Nothing more.

This is the first time i've seen Doherty spin the ball in domestic or ODI or any form of cricket & yes he has had a decent start so far.

But its early days yet & the test is not over. So i will reserve judgement until this innings & his second innings bowling performance is over, instead of making an knee-jerk judgment based on half of day of a test match.

Yeah, the jury's still out for sure, but I like what I've seen so far.

Is it just me or is it really cloudy? Possibility of rain?

Cook is playing a decent innings so far. Lets see if he can continue to handle the pressure as the day progresses.

They are certainly the last two batsmen I'd have expected to rescue a match for England.

North teasing them in the last over of the session.

Ooh...one more over. Watson's swingers?

Ye it is cloudy. Think it was drizzling for a bit before tea as well. So the possibility of a rain interruption @ some point of this test exists we can say.

We really lack that swing bowler that can get it right on middle stump and swing it back for the left or off stump and swing it away. Only ball Siddle is swinging is the one well outside off stump and Hilfy is slightly outside off but his swing comes from the hand.
