Impressed with Doherty so far. He's more than just a "tweaker" as War puts it, that's for sure. He has something about him. I like him because he's aggressive and shows genuine wicket-taking intent, unlike Hauritz who went for runs but wasn't particularly adventurous or attacking. I'm not a Hauritz hater, unlike most, but he was basically an honest trier. Nothing more.
This is the first time i've seen Doherty spin the ball in domestic or ODI or any form of cricket & yes he has had a decent start so far.
But its early days yet & the test is not over. So i will reserve judgement until this innings & his second innings bowling performance is over, instead of making an knee-jerk judgment based on half of day of a test match.
Yeah, the jury's still out for sure, but I like what I've seen so far.
