Nov 25-29: 1st Test: Australia v England at Brisbane

The morning will be the best chance for England's seamers to do some damage or at least Jimmy. Need 3 wickets for a realistic chance of staying competitive . That or start praying for rain, can't lose the 1st test, that will doom the series

I've not overly concerned about the first day. It may set the tone but the series is decided over 25 days.
I'm sure England will come back strongly second innings.

To be fair there was a few poor shots but that was a one in a series performance by Siddle and behind him Australia were very flat. None of the other bowlers look very good and I was left quite disappointed by Hilfenhaus who didn't seem to have his unnerving accuracy.

Being optimistic Pietersen looked good and Bell looks in a different class in comparison to the other England batsmen, seriously looked no plussed as all the carnage was happening at the other end.

Hilfenhaus was decent, I thought. He was the only one who had Bell in some sort of trouble.

The true test was always in our batting, the bowling has looked a lot stronger bar a few pieces of tailend magic and the odd selection. Our batsmen aren't patient enough to play the grinding game, and that stems right from our captain who seems to be pulling anything short and not playing it on it's merits.

Although the UDRS is helpful it ruins great moments like that. The fact that they had to stand around while it was reviewed dampened the moment a little.

Great vids tho, cheers.

I'm the opposite. Having the UDRS made me get out of my seat TWICE for that last wicket. Prolonged the awesomeness...:D

This.

We need Callum Ferguson to get good real quick. Hussey to fall apart this Ashes this series IMO.. Either one of North or Hussey won't last this whole series.

Who will do a Damien Martyn?

Certainly a better way to start the day than we did yesterday. Already 0/1, and must say Broad looked more threatening today, just from that one over. Only watched highlights of post-lunch from yesterday but when the Connies were batting it just looked so easy.

There is a definite area, fuller than usual that looks to be a very testing length. The one that got both Trott and Colly when they were caught driving and in Trott's case missing.

What a disastrous first day - we need our bowlers to step up to the remark and return the favour.

HAHAAHAH @ Greig, Warne & Lawry just now.

Warne: Katich is one the hairiy men in the world. So getting hit by Broad he has extra protection with the hair on his back.

Greig: Of course you dont have the problem, you cream your skin well.

Warne: Yes, no hair for me especially on the back.

Lawry: End of the over, thank god.
