Nov 25-29: 1st Test: Australia v England at Brisbane

Damn! Looks like I mised out on an epic day of cricket. Firstly, by the looks of the cricinfo commentary Siddle was actually trying for once which is great. Must have been exciting wacthing the hattrick. Good day by the Tassie duo, espcially Doherty who seemed to bowl well. Hilfy didn't have a great day despite getting that early wicket, he seemed to be bowling too wide outside off?

Great work by Siddle.I was very impress by Doherty people keep pointed to his average of 48 but as I've said he is a much improve bowler and he showed that today.

Will someone please get that ump out of one day/T20 mode? Loves calling his wides.

What an exciting day of cricket. Here's the hat-trick, in HD, for anyone who missed it:

Hat-trick ball:

Although the UDRS is helpful it ruins great moments like that. The fact that they had to stand around while it was reviewed dampened the moment a little.

Great vids tho, cheers.

Pushing at it because he's Alistair Cook

I think that's the SEVENTEENTH time in 60 Tests that he's got to 50 and not got to 70, worked out about 22% of his innings. That is the problem, three batsmen got in (40+) and didn't make that big score you need down under.

In 06/07 we were bowled out for less than 200 in half our innings (5/10) and that was with five bowlers. This time we've put in the sixth specialist batsman and just as well otherwise we would probably have got skittled for under 200 again.

I can see us conceding 500+ and this being over all too quickly.

For me England will have to bowl quite badly for us to get 500. IMO this pitch still has a lot for the bowlers, won't be surprised if we are all out for 300.

*throws all optimism out the window.

Credit to Siddle for a good spell of bowling, but some terrible shots from our batsmen.

here i was thinking Bollinger being axed was the f****** worst decision ever!?!

bring in Bollinger next test and get rid of Johnson ( i love Johnson but i mean c'mon hes lost all control!)

Ah and who said England were going to win 5-0?

Great first days play, going to be no better feeling then getting that urn back off the geezers!

...Unless we follow suit and our shaky middle order crumbles. :rolleyes

Typical england in most sporting events, a bit of hype how were favourites were gonna destroy everyone then BAM.
Reality check!!

Never expect to roll over the australians, those gits will never give you an easy time.
Well bowled siddle, can see a 4th day win for the aussies now.
