Now tell me he isn't a chucker?!

Freddy calls him a chucker :p For me he's just the bowler who i would ask to get me a wicket if my life depended on it, and i'll remember him as a great bowler not for all this Aussie moaning. and they call us whinging poms!

Even our prime minister called him a chucker...

Just because he is Prime Minister, does not mean his views on cricket are any better than anyone elses. In fact, he would be more likely to suffer from the national pride syndrome that has Australian's jealous that somebody is better than their beloved Warne.

Sorry for the abrupt phrasing.

Warne's always had to bowl on pacey/flatter pitches here in Australia for the majority of his career whilst Murali at times was wrapping up wickets against Bangladesh in turning subcontinent conditions.

Just go look at Murali's bowling record in Australia!

Hang on, isn't this the same Australian prime minister who had a face like a smacked arse when handing out the Rugby World Cup winners medal to the England players in 2003? He was so unsportsmanlike that he refused to look them in the face and congratulate them. He seems like a very bitter man to me, and anyone who thinks Murali chucks (without wanting to generalize, but most of them seem to be Australian) are just bitter, and bad sports.

In fairness, Warne's hardly prospered in the sub-continent either though.

I will say this about science etc

"scientists used to think the earth was flat"

take from that what you will..

Unless you have any proof against it you have to agree with what scientists say.

No they didn't. It's a common myth.

How do you know?

Murali's not a chucker as A_A as clearly stated, you can have a bent arm as long as it isn't straightened by 15 degrees.

There are bowlers with much more dubious actions e.g. Jermaine Lawson but because Murali has so many wickets and is about to overtake Warne (I still wouldn't say Murali is better), Aussies keep accusing of an illegal action as some sort of excuse for him overtaking their beloved Shane Warne.

Just to show off a picture.

A still photo proves so much when they are judged on straightening of the arm. Unless it's one of those cool things that when you move them they change, I don't know what they are called but they are cool

You're not suggesting he's only threatening on spinning tracks?

He averages under 20 in New Zealand, England and the West Indies, not exactly your typical spinner friendly pitches.

Shut up all you pommies before we beat you 5-0 again!

Lol, jokes, jokes.

In all seriousness, I don't think Murali is a chucker either. I just think Warne's better. I thought it was a bit dodgy when Murali came out & said on the eve of the World Cup Final that Sri Lanka are a better batting team then Australia though. Not that it's relevant or anything.

Nope, would've had the same ammount of success had he played 1/2 of his Test Match career on flat/pacey wickets in Australia like Warne has & only had 1 tour of Bangaldesh?

Which is exactly why I said that under the current testing regime he's innocent until scientific advances either confirm it or prove him to throw.

The main difference between Warne and Murali has been that Warne is a wily old fox and got a number of wickets by thinking batsman out. However, if you break Murali's career down into stages then you'll also see that as time has gone he's gotten better as his experience has grown and as such he's taken ever increasing hauls.

To counter the old argument that he's taken large numbers against the likes of Bangladesh and so on, well he can only play against what has been put in front of him. You'll also see that his record is fairly consistent against all nations, in all conditions bar Australia (mainly due to the fact that he only toured there when younger). I'm sure he'll look to rectify this during the forthcoming tour.
