Humph, I was hoping to see Shoaib Akhtar out there today. England look ominous and if KP can stay much longer, they'll have a handy total at the end of the first day.

Well played KP; A terrific hundred. By right he shouldn't be here now, but you have to make the most of your luck.

Shoaib was never really in the running for a Leeds comeback after his setback.

KP retires hurt and Chris Read gets his chance to shine. The bloke on my sig is watching you Read. Don't let me down.

Still undecided whether Sadjid Mahmood should be playing. Yes, he always get praise for his excellent bowling form in COUNTY championship, but he's still yet to make an impact in these recent test matches. He was batted all over the place against Sri Lanka!! Tom Smith for England, then quickly followed by a schoolboy cricketer called Andrew Procter!! haha

The good news is that Asif will rejoin Pakistan since he passed a fitness test.

Read goes LBW to Gul just one short of his test high score; For now it remains 38*.

Good comeback by pakistan at the end but all in all Englands day. 6 down with KP coming in next on 100 and Bell 66 no, and with our pace attack 450 should be a great score.

I'll be happy with 400 to be honest. I'm glad Salman Butt is back in the sqaud; should be an easy wicket for Hoggard.

7 innings for 82 for Jones.
1 Innings for 38 for Read.

:D

Read did well, looked uncomfortable against the new ball, but then Headingley is probably the best for a bowler in England with the new ball. Of the Test grounds anyway.

KP looks fine for coming out tomorrow and him and Bell both look in good form, KP certainly rode his luck.

Saj could bowl well tomorrow if he pitches it up, we know he can be erratic but we also know he gets swing and reverse swing.

I'd still prefer to have Prior rather than Read though.

Hoggard should bag Salman Butt quickly, and Harmison should bowl well too.

Kp does look in ominous form and he seems to have a habit of making the most of his luck doesn't he? I hope Bell makes a hundred tomorrow; 3 in a row would be some achievment.

And yes, If Sajid can find his rythym(sp?) tomorrow then he should take a couple of wickets. There is also Monty too!

Belly's averaging over 300 in this series!
At the start of the day I thought that 350 would be a good first innings score but if Bell can go on and KP continue to ride his luck 400/450 is possible.
